      • In memory of Greg Lake. He had already left to join ELP at this point but agreed to sing on the second KC album in return for some PA equipment apparently.

            • Early finish from work and I have the Living Room to myself for once.

A recent FLAC rip from my vinyl copy. Sounds absolutely crisp and clean, no pops but still clearly vinyl.

Ms Dickey could really sing and some!

              • Public Image Ltd - Metal Box. This a 4CD deluxe remastered edition featuring three CDs with alternate versions, demos, John Peel radio sessions and live performances. For some reason, I never bought it at the time (in 1979, probably student poverty was the explanation). The CD edition comes in a rectangular metal box. I think there's a vinyl edition out next week that uses the same circular metal box as the original release.

                • I remember buying the original metal box. Closed so tight that I had to destroy it to get the CD Out. Like fish in a tin can.

Apparently the original Metal Box (which predated CDs) had three x 12" 45 rpm which were quite difficult to get out. Plus a proportion of them were delivered damaged through rattling around in the box.

Just came across the end of this in my insomnia, on BBC World Service.

It may be available in "BBC iPlayer" or "iPlayer Extras" for those of you who may be interested.
