I remember that Alison Krauss album. As I recall, it was pretty much all vocals. For me, that was a disappointment, as I liked the idea of a woman as expert instrumentalist who could also sing, as distinct from vice versa. Not a lot of women in the Eric Clapton mode. She'd won all sorts of fiddle contests as a youth, but gradually morphed into a pretty much pure singer who could play the fiddle if necessary.LMS on a dedicated server (PiCorePlayer)

Andrea Schroeder - Void
Andrea Schroeder - Void
The new album of the German singer-songwriter/rock poet Andrea Schroeder.
In reviews of her music she's often called a female Nick Cave and if you listen to the album you'll know immediately why.
This is her 3rd album, the previous two had been produced by Chris Eckman from the Walkabouts and are also pretty much acclaimed.
"Once in a while, Germany offers uniquely talented female singers, and Andrea is one of those. Draw yourself a line from Marlene Dietrich over to Nico, add some dashes Chamber Pop in the vein of The Tindersticks to it and you come close. She's a musical poetess, with an outstanding voice that is as fascinating as her thrilling and melancholic lyrics. „Where The Wild Oceans End" is Andrea's second album produced by Chris Eckman (The Walkabouts, Tamikrest, Midnight Choir) and recorded at the Ocean Sound Recording Studios, Norway very close to the Atlantic coast. If you compare her forthcoming release to the critical acclaimed debut album „Blackbird" you must admit that she has taken the next big step. „Where The Wild Oceans End" is an album as it was made from one piece: it leaves its marks but inspires your soul and ends in deepest satisfaction."
