  • Updating LMS

    Hi all.
This is my first post here since 2006!
I have been running LMS without too much issue in all that time.
I have Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 - 1627922070 installed in Container Station on a QNAP NAS. It is now telling me there’s a new version to update to. But there is no way to actually carry out that upgrade! There’s a “More” link but that takes me to GitHub!
I seem to remember there being a page that displayed both the files location on the server and a command to carry out the upgrade! That isn’t available now!
How do I carry out the upgrade? Am I missing something obvious?
The cache folder is within the container so would, presumably, be overwritten if I delete the current container before installing the latest one?

What Docker image are you using? I would suggest you use the official Docker image and use the Docker mechanisms to update the container: pull down the latest image, restart the container. There are plenty of discussions around this topic.

This is a thread about updating LMS. Is that what your question is about?
If yes ... you can't LMS have never been an app in Apple AppStore. You can install LMS on a MAC.
If no ... then perhaps you are thinking of a controller. Logitech removed it from app stores years ago. There are alternatives but best to start a different thread if you cannot find what you want when searching here for Controller.

I’m using the community image as found in a search in QNAP’s Container Station.
I have been searching here and on Google but haven’t found anything! Maybe my search skills are crap!

I don't know QNAP Container Station. But there seems to be a "Pull" option somewhere with which you can get the latest image version (https://www.qnap.com/en-us/how-to/tu...iner-station-3).

I have Container Station 2. The link refers to version 3 which is still in beta! Anyway, I created a shared folder outside of CS and copied the current folders from my 8.2.0 install there. I should have done that years ago! Having created a new container based on the community version 8.4.0 and mapping the relevant folders to their new location. All appears to be working fine now! There is one issue that is of my making where the container creation ignored my naming of it and used the container id as the server name in LMS! I have tried editing the config file to rename the container but the change is overwritten almost immediately despite the container being stopped!
