I commented this before. Since practically every NAS uses Perl for administrative functions there is no reason whatsoever why you couldn't make LMS run on any of them. Really the only barrier is that LMS persists in including commonly used modules which causes version conflicts with NAS management software. I myself run LMS on an ARMv5 NAS system (Excito B3) that originally came with a Debian OS but I since replaced with Gentoo because Debian makes it way too complicated to host third party hardware specific software. My current running installation is LMS 8.2.0 (NoArch) on Perl 5.36 with all support modules coming either from system repository or PEAR - i.e. I do not use the slimserver-vendor method that is the base for all the official arch specific releases of LMS.

I'm sure it would be possible to get LMS 8.3.1 onto a Reaynas 202 somehow, but for those wanting to stick to using the Readynas OS6 software there is a limit of 8.2.x as far as I am aware - I'm not trying to update it again!
(for context I also run a Pi which is on 8.3.1 for most of my SBs but I was wanting to get 8.3.1 on the Readynas installation because I use that for a single Radio with a specific alarm every day which had been having issues and 8.3.x mentioned specific alarm fixes)

as the https://www.qnapclub.eu site seems to be no more. Any pointers?

Most of us would agree 100% but the OP has said he simply does not want to use a Pi. Reason not given.3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+)

I have just installed LMS on TrueNAS core in a Jail, via Portmaster.
So as long as this gets releases of LMS, the method should work and compiles direct from the source.
It's been an uphill battle for a couple days to find the right infos since it can't be installed as a plugin, but I have a working solution for 2023 based on old 2018 infos that I just posted here:
[EDIT] See post #8 for full recipe, posts #1~#7 might have more details on questions you may have if you hit issues. I am a noob to TrueNAS. I tried to install LMS as a plugin and it failed with the following error messages flashing in popup windows, telling me either the tar file couldn't be...
However I still have one issue to solve hence why I'm here!
So... Help!
When I try to enter my password to log onto mysqueezebox.com it fails and I don't get the password box replaced by "Sign out of mysqueezebox.com" button.
I'm hoping it's an obvious issue/solution to someone here and I can trade for the offering of another working NAS solution for some goodwill.I saw somewhere jumping to v 8.x.x was hitting some bug but IDK if that's my issue. Right now only the web player connects/works (http://192.168.0.xxx:9000/stream.mp3).
Log errors (I can ping mysqueezebox from the jail):

Note: I have my other server on a QNAP which limps along just fine, I can log in/out and my devices talk to it (that NAS is a slow celeron dog). TBH I don't understand why we need to have mysqueezebox.com bridge the server(s) and the devices in my local network. If that server breaks/shuts down, we're dead in the water. Can I even stream my music outside of my local network?Last edited by sonyhome; 2023-03-24, 10:53.

Can you share some more information about your installation? Could you please post the top part of Settings/Information? What IO::Socket::SSL version is reported there? What LMS version are you running anyway?Michael

Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.1 - TRUNK @ UNKNOWN
Hostname: lms
Server IP Address: 172.16.0.2
Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
Operating system: FreeBSD - EN - utf8
Platform Architecture: amd64-freebsd
Perl Version: 5.32.1 - amd64-freebsd-thread-multi
Audio::Scan: 1.02
IO::Socket::SSL: 2.081
Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0)
Total Players Recognized: 0
Note: I can ping mysqueezebox.com from inside the LMS jail. IDK why LMS can't log to it!
If you need to justify keeping LMS alive, just look on eBay the amount of devices transferring hands all the timeI would be happy to land an occasional hand to see it stays alive though my Perl is rusty and most of what's going on in LMS is foreign to me. I'd put my config as a signature and loads of squeezeboxes I own, but I haven't figured out profiles on this forum!
