    Can't Move Favorites

    Using LMS 8.2.1-1662271208 on Windows 10 Pro.

    I've had this set up for years and have never experienced this issue. The other day I noticed that one of my favorites was missing. Simple enough so I launched the web GUI, drilled down to my favorites and it wasn't there. I recreated it and it appeared at the bottom of the list of favorites. It had previously been the third from the top. So I click-dragged it into position, and the GUI went up one level. But the newly added favorite didn't move.

    The path I have set up is Home > Favorites > Over the Air Radio. There are about a dozen favorites. The formerly missing, now newly added favorite was created added under "Over the Air Radio. Yet when I drag it up, it does not move. And the screen jumps up to Favorites. When I first noticed this yesterday, I was using an LMS version from June. Updated to the version listed at the top of this post with no change in behavior.

    At first I thought it was just my Radio, but then noticed it also on my Touch. That told me that the issue is with LMS. Thinking it may be a browser issue, in addition to Firefox (default) I have the same behavior with Chrome and Edge.

    Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

      What web skin are you using? Anything in server.log when this happens
      (see Settings/Information)?

        Thanks for the reply.

        I'm not certain what you mean by "web skin.? If you're referring to Web Interface of the LMS GUI, it's set to "Default." When I changed it to Classic, it now appears like the screenshot below and I can't get out of it. I had to use the PC where LMS lives and get to the GUI from Firefox there. This is the GUI via Firefox on my main PC.

        As for the server log, this shows from when I updated LMS to 8.2.1 - 1662271208 @ Sun Sep 4 08:03:02 WEDT 2022 yesterday morning. Two things I noticed:
        - In the second line (referring to radio station KPBS) it is -not- the station that I just (re)added and can't be moved. And it plays just fine.
        - In the last line containing the two IPs, the first IP is (probably) the VPN I was using at the time. The second IP is where LMS lives. The issue occurs even when I'm not using a VPN.
        Code:
        [22-10-20 08:01:31.4693] main::init (390) Starting Logitech Media Server (v8.2.0, 1627922070, Tue Aug  3 11:28:42 WEDT 2021) perl 5.014001 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
        [22-10-20 08:07:57.5246] Slim::Player::Song::open (417) Error: Couldn't create command line for unk playback for [http://kpbs.streamguys1.com/kpbs-mp3]
        [22-10-20 08:23:26.6067] main::init (390) Starting Logitech Media Server (v8.2.1, 1662271208, Sun Sep  4 08:03:02 WEDT 2022) perl 5.014001 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
        [22-10-21 01:09:50.0793] Slim::Web::HTTP::generateHTTPResponse (1027) Access to settings pages is restricted to the local network or localhost: 192.142.226.151 -> 192.168.1.103 (settings/server/basic.html)
        So now there are two issues:
        - the original - how can I drag/move a favorite radio station link within the existing list?
        - how can I return the GUI back to default?

        Thanks.

          No idea why you can't drag/drop favourites, works fine for me.

          To change to "Default" skin, on the Home page click Server Settings, select "Interface" from the top dropdown box, change to Default in the second dropdown box, save settings bottom of page.

            Do you expose your LMS to the internet? You seem to be accessing LMS
            from a different network. Maybe that's causing problems?

              I do, but there's never been an issue like this previously. I think it may have been the VPN, but I can't be certain.

              The bottom line is that it's "fixed." Not so much "fixed" as normal behavior has returned. I can (and have) moved the favorite to where I want it. And the default GUI has returned.

              Despite the issue appearing with Firefox, Chrome, and Edge, I restated Firefox with all extensions disabled and everything worked as expected. I restarted Firefox normally with the intent of disabling each extension one by one until I found the culprit. But upon restart, with all extensions still enabled, LMS works as it has previously. I've restarted LMS and it still works. I've restarted Windows and it still works.

              I'm not going to pretend that I know what happened, and I don't think anyone needs to waste their time on this.

              Thanks.

                If you look at the screenshot I posted previously, you'll see that there is no home page option to click on. No menu bar. No nothing.

                But it doesn't matter at this point as all is well. See my reply to mberger just before this one.

                Thanks.

                  Thanks very much for this heads up. I wasn't aware of the info in the linked post as I don't frequent the forum on a daily basis.

                  I've already made the change and LMS is now only reachable from within my LAN.

                  Thanks again.
