installed LMS 8 on QNAP (using QLMS 2): Logitech Media Server Version: 8.0.0 - 1583188601 @ Mon Mar 2 23:54:19 CET 2020
Now connecting with one of my 3 radios does not work - Message: xxxxx needs to be updated to a newer version of Logitech Media Server
When connecting with my Boom, Transporter, Squeezeplay - everything works fine.
Then I tried the same on Windows 10 - When using LMS 8.0.0 - same problem occurs
Going back to LMS 7.9.3 everything works fine again.
Radios do use the version 7.7.3 r16676. I did not find any newer version for baby.

On the Radio go to Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer, install the Patch
Installer. The Radio will re-boot. Once it's back, go to
Settings/Advanced/Patch Installer and install the "Version Comparison Fix".
What you're seeing is the result of a bug that was fixed about 7-8 years
ago, but never released for the SB Radio...

Hello,
I have the same problem.
I can't login from my SB Radio to LMS 8.0.
I try to install this patch - I have installed 1.2.36 Patch, but this patch don't working with LMS 8.0.
Do you have more solution?

I must add this feature to my LMS ?
Or I must Add this only to my SB Radio?
I can not see this patch in LMS and my SB Radio
What is the full name of this?
P.S.: I use QLogitechMediaServer 2.10.6 on my QNAP.
Have you installed the Patch Installer on your Radio from the applet installer in settings/ advanced? In the patch installer scroll down to " version comparison fix" and install it.
Michael explained this in post 2 of this thread.

Server is LMS 8.0.0.
I had already done this fix a few weeks ago using instructions from Michael, I can't find that particular thread now.
I had occasion to factory reset my Radio yesterday to get it connected to mysb.com (another story).
ATM my Radio is connected to mysb.com. Going to My Music results in the same problem as the OP " . . . needs to be updated to a newer version of Logitech Media Server".
I've re-installed the Applet Installer, Radio rebooted. However, going to Settings/Advanced/Patch Installer, just bumps the screen, I can't enter that menu.
So . . . I started LMS 7.9.2 on my Win10 machine, no trouble connecting to that server from the Radio. Going to Settings/Advanced/Patch Installer now lets me enter the menu and shows "version comparison fix".
So I assume to get the update one needs to be running an LMS version pre 8.0.0?

I am running LMS 8.0.0 and only installed the patch yesterday.
Although the Radio was already connected to LMS 8.0.0 before I installed the patch so you may need to connect to 7.9.2 to install the patch.
