    This seems to have done it. Thank you very much.

        HOWEVER... a short while after this I noticed that I could nevertheless open the app and it seemed to work. At least I could see and select artists etc., and I could work the QLMS's settings.
        After I updated QTS to 5.0.1.2376, QLMS seems to be running, but it doesn't start automatically after the QNAP booted.

        Even though it seems to be running, it does not find any tracks. The media scan finished within a second and finds nothing. The log looks like this:

        What can I do?

        • I just noticed that the LMS doesn't find my players. I have a Touch, a Receiver and a Controller. I can see them all in the WiFi network. Why does LMS not see them?

            What happens when you select My Music on the Touch?

              Well, when the LMS didn't work in the past several months I "gave" the Touch a USB drive with my music, so when I select My Music on the Touch, it shows me the usual selection, and I can play individual songs or a random mix. (But this "local server" on the Touch can't play the playlists that are also on the USB drive)

                Is it possible that you are running LMS on the touch (it can do that, albeit limited performance).
                the message about QLMS being uncertified requires you to check the box to allow uncertified apps to run(I can’t recall the exact terminology).
                It’s not clear (to me) whether your issues are to do with the integrated Touch server, or QLMS.
                I suggest you check the box to allow uncertified app and remove the usb drive /reset the Touch, and then restart QLMS.

                  I did that now, and I waited until the Touch had completed boot. Only after that did I start QLMS. There's warning icon next to the QLMS icon, when I hover the cursor over it, it says "Es gibt keine digitale Signatur" (there's no digital signature). But I don't have to specifically allow it be started, and when I do start it, it appears to work at first glance. When I open it, it warns again saying "Sichere Verbindungen (https://) werden bei dieser App nicht unterstützt. WirkLMS lich öffnen? Ja Nein (safe connections are not supported by this app. Really open? Yes No), but again there's no check box whatsoever where I could allow the app to run permanently without giving me this sort of warning every time. It then shows the typical menu in a new browser tab and it appears to work. I can also open the QLMS's settings, but ...

                  like before, it doesn't recognize the Touch. When I go into settings - player it says "Sie besitzen weder Squeezebox noch Transporter" (You own neither Squeezebox nor Transporter).
                  It suggests to check network connection on the player, but I'm not sure where in the Touch's settings I should check, or how. The Touch's info shows 100% WiFi strength. It also connect to the WiFi network, but it does not find the LMS. I can see and control the Touch in the Squeezer app, or with the Squeezebox controller, but neither of them has connection to the QLMS.

                  Does this info give you any hint what could cause the problem?

                    On the QNAP app centre, in the top right, there is a settings icon. open that. Tick the box "allow installations of apps without a digital signature"

                    This does not fix the issue of LMS not finding the touch. Unfortunately my QLMS decided it would not start today after a bunch of network issues, so I can't do more for you till i sort that. I'll check my touch when I get it back up.

                    • QLogitechMediaServer seems to stop every few hours, and I don't see any explanations in QLogitechMediaServer.log of why it is "Stopping LogitechMediaServer in the Background" at 7:50.
                      Code:

                      Any advice on how to find out what is triggering it to stop LogitechMediaServer?

                      I did check server.log, which ends at 7:49 after some typical queries (virtually identical _getTagDataForTracks queries occur regularly in the logs without difficulty)
                      Code:
                      [23-09-01 07:49:40.0328] Slim::Control::Queries::_getTagDataForTracks (5690) Tag G/P (genre) query:
                                              SELECT genres.id, genres.name, genre_track.track
                                              FROM genre_track
                                              JOIN genres ON genres.id = genre_track.genre
                                              WHERE genre_track.track IN (23749)
                                              ORDER BY genres.namesort COLLATE perllocale

                      [23-09-01 07:49:40.0329] Slim::Control::Queries::_getTagDataForTracks (5726) Tag k (comment) query:
                                              SELECT track, value
                                              FROM comments
                                              WHERE track IN (23749)
                                              ORDER BY id
                      Any thoughts appreciated,

                      • I needed to look at the QNAP logs, not the QLMS logs. It was the Digital Signature issue, which I addressed as in the link. Hopefully it will no longer shut off LMS every morning now.
