Picoreplayer: auto switching in now playing

    Edit Again:

    Custom Clock is working.

Manually copied over the correct set of files for piCoreplayer
    ---

    Edit again
On GitHub there is this file, in which some have
    targets=jive
    And some do not.

    Screenswitcher is missing the target=jive

So this might explain why I had to install screenswitcher manually as it never appears in the applet install list on the previous piCoreplayer

    Edit:
    Resolved?

I manually copied over the ScreenSwitcher applet and it is now showing installed.

    ====
    Hello,

Do any of the solutions that auto switch between the different now playing screens work with the picoreplayer?

The different built in VU meters are fantastic! It would be great if it could be setup to cycle through them when music is playing.

There seems to be several applets with similar functionality

    Tileswitcher
    Screensaver
    Screen switcher

    Thanks! I’m

Did you try Screenswitcher? For me it does what you are asking.

      Thanks for the quick response.

For screen switcher, I can see that it is referenced in these forums, but I do not see it in the list of available plugins on the LMS server.

I do have “use unsupported plugins” checked.

Does it need to be installed on the server first?

I am running LMS as a docker in Synology

Okay I fired up my squeezebox touch and the applet screen switcher is there.

So applets are missing on the picoreplayer

Okay, so I remade the sd image from scratch and this time used the 32bit 8.2 image and everything seems to work, but NOT some applets.

Custom clock and screen switcher are NOT there.

My original issue is still there.

            Copy it from your Touch.

Okay, if I remote login to the touch, is it obvious where and which files?

              Thanks

                Copy the applets to:
                /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets

CustomClock.zip seems to be too large to upload, you have to get it from your Touch.

Thanks for the files and the tip.

Have to step away from the computer so will try again later.

                  Thanks!

Back again, so I tried to do it remotely according to the documentation.

I remote login with the user tc, but the directory .jivelite and below belong to root.

So no permissions to copy ScreenSwitcher to the Applets directory.

On the touch I enabled remote access, but there is no /home dir as far as I can tell to copy files from.

Took the SD card out of the piCoreplayer and tried reading it from a windows PC and none of those directories are available.

I see a lot of "active plugins", "inactive plugins" and "3rd party plugins" on my pCP LMS.

I can't see one called "screen switcher" but there is one called "SaverSwitcher".

BTW: You can only have one VU meter available at once. Each one is a separate extension.

By default, Windows cannot see Linux file systems.

Yes, my LMS also shows SaverSwitcher. But there are no settings on the server for it as far as I can tell

And the only applet on the picoreplayer is superdatetime.

The directory on the pi for custom clock helper is blank. I cannot copy files into that directory because they are owned as root and I logged in as tc.

Using the now playing button you can cycle through the now playing screens, that is very cool

                          bengaldave,

Just wondering if you do backups.

pCP is memory based, so unless you specifically do a backup, things will be lost during a reboot.

                          regards
                          Greg

You must remember that many of these plugins were written for the older hardware Squeezebox players with a VDU display (Transporter, Classic, Boom, etc.)

Their settings are usually found under LMS > Settings > Player > Basic settings.

Here's what I see for my Slim Devices SB3 (Classic) below.

NB, I don't use any of Erlands plugins, way too complex for me.

I don't even use my Classic just plugged it in now to demonstrate.

Oh, okay, I am new to picoreplayer.

Okay so if applets were working (custom lock helper for example) it would download fresh each reboot
