LMS on a pizero is very limited. Likely you are hitting a out of memory event. You might try enabling disk swap file. That setting is in Extras/bootcodes. Look for the “noswap” and uncheck it. Make sure you have plenty of disk space
I want to create a backup image of the SD card which recommends using the "Stop LMS" on the LMS page. However, I cannot find the "Stop LMS" button anymore on the LMS page.
Here is the info on the version I am running:

Thanks for your reply, but the pCP on my Pi zero on which access to the web interface is sometimes lost is only a player. LMS is not installed on this Pi. In this case, do you still think an out of memory event is causing the issue?

On the bottom of the pCP web interface you can select between "Player" and "Player/Server" mode. Probably you have unintentionally selected the "Player" mode.
PS: If you want you can update to Squeezelite v1.9.9-1419-pCP by clicking the Full Update button under Main piCorePlayer functions.

CJS,
You are correct. That is what happened. I forgot about the Player, player/server, and beta options.
Thanks!

I run a pizeroW player /w Jivelite and small screen attached. No issues. Memory should not be a problem even in this config. I would suspect power or network adapter issue.

Thanks for your reply. The PSU is an official Raspberry Pi 2.5A supply, which should be more than powerful enough for a Pi Zero W. I was also thinking about a Wifi interruption, but then I do not understand why squeezelite and jivelite keep working while the pCP webserver and SSH server apparently stop working (or do not recover from the network interruption). Anyway the problem does not occur that often. It only means that occasionally pCP needs to be restarted.

I have a RPi Zero 2 W set up as a player with Jivelite to a local monitor. I used to have to reboot the RPi every day or so. The music would stop playing from this player (which is synced with other players that continued playing music). I would get a message on the Jivelite screen saying something like "No network connection." I never tried accessing the player from the web when this happened.
The RPi was positioned beside my receiver, next to its metal case. I moved the RPi about 18" away from the receiver and I no longer lose the connection. The RPi is not that far from my WiFi router, but I guess the metal case and the walls reduced reception enough to lose my connection. Te RPi never reestablished the lost connection, even though it had no trouble reconnecting after rebooting. I made no changes to the RPi other than its location, which was slightly higher and not near any metal.

Thank you for sharing this very useful information! To provide some more background, a few months ago I have moved into a new apartment. In my old house I experienced the same problem with my Pi Zero, but there it also happened that the Pi became totally unresponsive. The Pi had then disappeared from the player list in LMS, and also did not respond anymore on the remote control. I guess this is similar to what you have seen. In my new house I have seen a few times that the Pi could still be controlled from LMS and from the remote control, but that the web interface was not accessible anymore. The last time that this happened I found out that in this event I could also not connect via SSH.
Btw in my new house I am using a different Wifi router than in my old house, but in both houses the Pi was/is located close to my receiver with metal case. Based on your experience I will see if I can move the Pi further away from the receiver and if that helps to avoid the partial or full loss of functionality. By the way I have another player (ESP Muse Luxe with ESP32 module running squeezelite-esp32 software) that also occasionally stops working. So maybe I need to improve Wifi conditions in my house with the help of Wifi extenders.
Meanwhile I wonder if it is possible to make pCP (and squeezelite-esp32) more resilient against Wifi interruptions. In the case of pCP it would also help if it could report Wifi signal strength to LMS.
Hi all
I'm trying to setup the Picore with jivelite on my RaPi 3 with USB touch screen 5" (http://www.lcdwiki.com/5inch_HDMI_Display-B) - starting with applying changes to config.txt for the screen:
Then installing Jivelite from the web PIcore player control, then rebooting - after reboot screen is starting up so I can see all starting commands - then jivelite screen flickers for a second - and this is happening every few seconds - flickers for a second and gone - till I shutdown the Raspberry. Not sure what is wrong here...I red on the other forum someone else had the same issue but it was not resolved. I appreciate any advise...
Thank you
UPDATE: Installed 8.1 and it works like a charm not sure what is wrong with 8.2 but most importantly it works Perhaps will try to update later to 8.2 version.
Thank you.
I got around to doing an insitu update from pcp7 to 8, and I ran into a bit of a problem. LMS will not start. When I start it from the LMS tab it states "LMS is running" but it's not, a refresh shows "not running". When I try to access LMS via anything, like the "Configure LMS" button, I get a "<ip address> this site refused to connect". The ip address is the same one for pcp, lms, etc since before I did the update.
I have rebooted pcp a few times.
I can still access the mounted drives via samba.
I did backup the SD image before I started, so I could burn a new SD and try again, but before I start doing things like reinstalling LMS (preserving cache), any thoughts? I don't mind rebuilding but before I decide what to rebuild, maybe others might have a better idea. I decided instead of thrashing around, I'd ask here.
I was watching the update and a few file downloads failed and retried. I assumed that since it got through it, all was good.
