  • Hello,

is there a sure-fired recommendation for a Wifi-stick that runs plug&play with piCorePlayer 8.x? I'd like to try a Wifi-Stick with my Allo USBridge signature but I'm not very good in using command-line-editors ...

    Best regards
    Stefan

P.S. Sorry if that has been discussed before, but I was not able to find much about it.
P.P.S. The most recent Wifi-Sticks AVM FRITZ! AC 430 and 860 are supposed to have Mediatek chipsets MT76x0U / MT76x2U – would these work out of the box?

    • When using the nightly dev (LMS 8.4) scanning the library no longer works. I assume this is because of the new version of SCAN which has not been included in the LMS Binaries and Libraries ?`

Reverting to nightly stable (LMS 8.3.1) and all is good.

      Just for info.

How does it fail? I don't think pCP has been updated to use the latest
        scanner module.

It doesn't do anything, i.e. completes immediately. Did a 'Clear library and rescan everything' and some more trouble shooting, and ended up with 0 Tracks

As mentioned, I reverted to 8.3.1 and all is perfect.

Same problem here. pCP 8.2.0, LMS latest 8.4

Clicking any Rescan button results in all Rescan buttons greyed out, 2 seconds later they return to normal, the Scan doesn't start, nothing in the server log, scanner log is completely blank.

This actually isn't related to pCP at all - the scanner is broken on all
platforms. New builds are on their way. Thanks for the heads up!

Installed the latest 8.4 and scanning works again.

Having said that, the version of the scanner is 1.05 and not 1.06, so maybe there is some relation to pCP?

That's another "issue". Paul hasn't updated the Audio::Scan module yet.
                          I'm sure he'll get there.

But the bug causing the scanner to crash was related to some work being
done to port the Windows build to Strawberry Perl.

So is the glibc version the reason why pCP doesn't use the ARM7 or aarch64 versions of audio-scan? I checked my pCP player and glibc was 2.32 compared to Raspberry Pi OS at 2.31.

I don't know. You'd have to ask Paul.
