Added "Build a simple LMS server" project.

This project is what I do to build my LMS server. I will recheck the process and add a few more notes the next time I build it. My LMS servers are quite generic, no NAS, no network shares and take only 20 minutes to build from scratch.

Considering this should be the simple how-to, I'd recommend to always
use the full SD card size. The warning about the partition size is
already too complicated for a simple instruction set.

Unfortunately removing that warning will get rid of the only color spot
      on the page :-)

All that modern stuff. Who needs more than blue for a link?

I have a tip for network share mounts whether nfs or cifs. Not pCP specific but if you ALWAYS use the same mount point your playlists will transfer across to a new piece of *nix based LMS server hardware without editing.

                  Thanks for your feedback.

I have added a couple of issues on git:

Your requests are interesting for a couple of reasons:

                  1) From my personal experience, you can use any RPi you want. So I don't have any recommendation. I used a RPi1B with 256MB memory for my LMS hardware for years!

                  2) I don't use a NAS or mount network shares so I haven't documented it. There is a few instructions for SAMBA in the Add a USB hard drive and setup SAMBA How-to.

So your requests have highlighted that the documentation will have a bias towards the limited topics I know and use.

                  regards
                  Greg
                  Hi Greg

Would you consider including the attached for item 2? It is for a Synology NAS but I expect other NAS would be similar.

                  Regards

                    Yes.

Added "Add a network share (Synology NAS)"

                    Thanks redgum

Can we add WiFi dongle info?

Great to see the documentation site! This should really help newcomers and people like me who forgot how they got things working in the first place

I remember a list of WiFi USB dongles that were "known to work" with piCorePlayer. I think it was a Google Docs list to which users could add devices they got to work. It would be great if that list could be added (or linked) to the section on WiFi setup.

I think that page might be lost in history.

I tried to backtrack, but that was 3 or 4 repositories ago, and I got stuck at "google code" which is in "archive" mode but the piCorePlayer project doesn't seem to exist anymore. I couldn't find the right search criteria to use in the wayback machine.

Hopefully someone may have a link or a copy.

Found it! It is still on the old piCorePlayer Google site:
Access Google Sites with a personal Google account or Google Workspace account (for business use).

There is also a list of USB DACs.

Perhaps it can be saved and put up on the new doc site?

                            Thanks wtnh,

Weird that I couldn't find a link to that old site.

I have added links on the new wifi pages (under More information) to the old list of USB wifi adapters.

                            regards
