The link to the normal 5.0.0 on the downloadpage is incorrect: https://repo.picoreplayr.org/insitu/...layer5.0.0.zip
      it should be: https://repo.picoreplayer.org/insitu...layer5.0.0.zip

There is simply an "e" missing. :-)

Should I also do this when upgrading from the beta, or is in-site update OK for that situation?

Depends on what version of the beta I let you test.... there were a few betas with glitched update packages. If it works you should be fine.

Beta 9. But apparently, for that version it does not work (only 4.1.0 and 4.0.0 are listed as versions to update from, so when trying to download the update script, it fails).

I'll investigate more tomorrow, but for now I'm back on beta 9:
With 5.0.0, WIFI was flaky - slow ssh, sometimes the player even dropped out from being listed in the LMS web interface. Issues disappeared when I rebooted into b9.

                Nice! Thanks for the treat.
I just bought a new 7" RPi screen yesterday ( 1st was not working, bad touch calibration ).
Setting it up I saw the new version. Tried the in-situ upgrade from 4.0.
Wacked my sd ( no boot ), so I got a new image.
                Works great so far.

Insitu isn't showing up the 5.0 option for me. I've run the hotfix to 4.1.2, but only seeing 4.0.0 and 4.1.0 as options for update

                  Code:
                  [ INFO ] Internet accessible.
[ INFO ] pCP repository accessible.
[ INFO ] You are currently using piCorePlayer v4.1.2
                  [ INFO ] Step 1. - Downloading insitu.cfg...
                  [ OK ] Successfully downloaded insitu.cfg

Probably a cache on our CDN, I thought I reset it, but I was having network problems this morning. I just reset it again, give it a shot.

Updated a Server/Player and two players today From 4.1 to 5.0 using the hotfix/update method.

All seem to working fine. Took about 5 minutes each.

                      Thanks pcp team.

Did the in-place upgrade on my main LMS server this morning. Worked without a hitch.

Thank you for the new version and thank you for the added DAC support.

                            /Claus

EDIT 2:14 pm: I loaded the piCorePlayer web-interface and pushed the Update pCP on the main page and followed the instructions. Easy. I just wish to mention that my player updated to version 4.12 first (I was on 4.10) and a hotfix was required, etc.

As the web interface was reloaded I could see it wasn't version 5.0.0, so I ran the update a second time. Four steps were required. The piCorePlayer rebooted twice. Again it was easy, no problems.

                              Samba Issue

Download & update ran well, however Samba is refusing to start. Have re-booted, provided a Sever Workgroup as it was removed/missing - still won't start.

Have also tried 'updating' back to 4.1, but that process fails, so will have to manually re-install.
