Using ir TSOP38238 with squeezebox branded remotes/ seek not working

Get got an ir receiver for my piCoreplayer.

    Works great

    1)
According to an earlier post, holding down the ffwd should seek through the currently playing song.

What it does do is to cycle through all songs in the playlist.

How can I get seek working?

    2)

How hard would it be to map the sleep key to now playing? Would like to be able to cycle through the now playing screens.

I have both the full sized squeezebox remote and the mini squeezebox remote.

The mini squeezebox remote does not have a key for now playing, that is why I would like to map the sleep key to now playing.

This might help? It's for a FLIRC, not for Diode Receivers, but the process might be the same?

If Flirc is not working you probably need to go to the Flirc forum and work out what you're doing wrong.

Jumping in here - so, a old, prob v1 flirc, SHOULD work with pCP, and even without JiveLite? If so, how do you go about telling it what device is being used? Is it OK to do this via the Windows Software setup, then move the Flirc to the RPI? IS there anyway to check in the logs that the Flirc is being seen?

        Many thanks.

Not sure about without Jivelite I have never used it like this I've always used it with Jivelite.

Someone else maybe able to help here.

FlIRC is a programmable USB Keyboard emulator, its that simple

Thanks - so with JiveLight I need to configure the FLIRC to read the remote buttons as specific Jivelite keys - presumably there is a key map somewhere - I'll look - there are instructions on page 5 of this thread I've found since posting, but I get as far as "Start inputlircd from the command line while testing. I've found the following options work best." which doesn't work.

Anyway - something to look at next year!

PS - I guess this is the keyboprd map https://github.com/ralph-irving/jive...oActionMap.lua

Post #44 of this thread explains how to determine which flirc you have and the commands necessary to use the flirc with squeezelite directly. No jivelite required.

Try it out. If you get stuck ask here and someone will be happy to help.

Thanks - I did try those, I found after originally posted, but got stuck on

                $ sudo /usr/local/sbin/inputlircd -n "flirc.tv flirc" -m 0 -g -r 500

Today I'm getting Command not found, but I was getting something else yesterday - I'll keep playing, not much else to do today apart from take decorations down.

With JiveLite install I am guessing I don't need any of the IR parts as FLIRC is viewed as a USB keyboard (Which I didn't realize until the earlier reply).

Off Topic - the reason why I am looking at this is my SB2 has semi-died - see https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...ter-power-loss and we had the SB2 with a 'fuzzy clock" which is now missed by the family - if I went with a small display on the Pi is there an equivalent display option for when nothing is playing?

                Many thanks

All good now - I didn't fully get the fact that Jivelite sent output via HDMI as well as to any screen - obvious really, so went done that route, configured Flirc on PC for most common controls, now just going to try getting my Harmony Hub to get it right - Two wonderful products killed by Logitech!
                  Many thanks
