Jivelite and (hopefully) Screen Switcher Applet

I don't think this would work. It might help Jivelite users, but would
at the same time hide the applet on other devices. Those targets are
exclusive: anything not in the list would not get the applet.

Could you please reset the file to what you had before, then enable
logging for plugin.extensions and see what you get in the log when you
    try to install the applet?

Jivelite and (hopefully) Screen Switcher Applet

    Hello,
i used my Squeezebox-Touch for years but now i switched to a Raspberry 3 with pCP, Jivelite and 7'' display. This setting is a good replacement for my old touch but there is on thing i really miss.
It's the Screen Switcher Applet from Erland Isaksson. http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph...witcher_applet
Sadly it is not listed in the Applet Installer.

Is there any chance to get this applet working in jivelite?
Maybe someone has a good idea.

    Thanks

Check to be sure you have the correct repo added.

Yes, the correct repo is added. But it's not showing the screen switcher applet.
I think i have to install it directly from jivelite under settings-->advanced-->applet installer.
But there is only CustomClock, JiveLite Demo Applet and License Manager listed.

settings-->advanced-->applet installer. There are applets like Album Flow, Daylight Clock, Weather Forecast and others that are not shown in jivelite. Testing SqueezePlay on Windows brings
the same result like my SB-touch, all applets available.

I think i'll have to wait for bluetdi, or maybe someone
can explain how i can get this work.

Take winSCP, SSH into your Touch and go to the following path:

                  /usr/share/jive/applets

Select the folder "ScreenSwitcher" and copy it to your PC. Close the connection.

SSH into your PicorePlayer and go to:

                  /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets

Copy the said folder there, close the connection.

Go on your Picoreplayer to settings/piCoreplayer and save the settings (just to be shure). Reboot. On the Screen Saver-screen there should be the ScreenSwitcher settings. Set your screens and times. Go back to settings/piCoreplayer and save the settings (again, just to be shure). Reboot (to be shure).

Again, SSH into your PicorePlayer and go to:

                  /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/settings

There should be a new file "ScreenSwitcher.lua" with your settings. If not, copy this file from your Touch to the piCorePlayer.

                  Good luck.

Thanks bluetdi for your help and the very good explaination. I followed the steps and could succsessfully install the ScreenSwitcher applet.
I've also installed the Daylight Clock applet, but it doesn't look so nice on the 7'' screen.
Now i'm looking for some nice customClock templates to switch on my screen.

The Screen Switcher applet doesn't appear in the applet installer on Jivelite because the repo.xml doesn't include jivelite in the targets list.

Good to know. Maybe you can implement Screen Switcher or other applets in that repo.xml in future releases of JiveLite. Since Erlands Plugins are free it should be possible. It would be much easier to install if it can directly done by JiveLite.

Before I go to the trouble... has anybody gone to the trouble of mirroring Erland's repo and fixing stuff like the missing target attributes and reliance on http: for the downloads?

(Like Baxxy, I'm hoping to get Screen Switcher working on my 7" PcP 6 project.)

                          Thanks,

                          Peter

P.S. Thank you, Erland, for liberating your plugins!

That's not the only problem. Erland also advertises minTarget="7.4" which also prevents easy installation. Looks like minTarget="0.1" fixes that part (but as you note, "jivelite" needs to be in the pipe-delimited "target" attribute of the applet element).

Cross your fingers, I think I've got a mirror repo.xml nearly ready that would allow pCP Jivelite to easily install Erland's applets.

Realize that this is an older thread. But it looks like this issue is still there. I had to manually install ScreenSwitcher on my new piCoreplayer.

I do not know if this is the correct way, but I submitted a pull ticket

                              Lms-community >> lms-plugin-repository

                              File is extensions.xml

                              Added target=“jivelite”

And changed minTarget=“0.1” as mentioned in the thread above.
