  • Announce: piCorePlayer 3.00

    EDIT:
21 august. If you have used pCP3.00 before this date, please start from fresh again with a new download of pCP3.00.

We had some nasty bugs which are fixed:
    • hifiberry DACs are now working
    • Buffer settings are now working
    • User commands are now working

Unfortunately, we have problems doing insitu updates from previous versions to the current pCP3.00. So please download pCP3.00 image and burn to your SD-card.
    To keep your current settings:
    • Using your current version of pCP save your config to a USB-flash drive (from the main web-page use "save to USB").
    • Keep the USB-flash drive attached
    • Boot your pCP3.00 - and it will use your current settings in pCP3.00.

    ************************************************** ************************
    Original announcement.

Finally, a new piCorePlayer version is ready. piCorePlayer3.00.

A little background for eventual new users of piCorePlayer (pCP).
pCP has slowly evolved from a pure squeezelite player into a more complete system which now also can be used as a logitech media server (LMS) or as a combined LMS server and player.
If you add a official Raspberry touch screen and enable Jivelite you will essentially have a Squeezebox Touch player

    Changelog:
    • Kernel updated to 4.4.15
    • Using Openssh instead of dropbear as ssh server.
    • Added infra-red (IR) remote control of Jivelite (LIRC support fro the "Tweaks page").
    • Numerous bug-fixes.
    • Improved appearance.
    • Added option to wake on Lan (WOL) of LMS server to tweaks page.
    • Support for new I2S DACs
    • Lots of internal improvements.

    The Team
    (Ralphy, Greg, Paul and Steen)

Sorry, We have to take this release off the grid for a short period. There is a small problem we need to fix.

The fresh image should be fine, it's was a problem with the insitu updates. Changing from dropbear to openssh was leaving remnants.

I told you along time ago it would not be in 3.00. I have it working, but the web page development has not been started and is quite significant to deal with the configuration.

Downloads from our repo (lms, lirc, and others) are broken. Any one who managed to grab an image before it was pulled will want to re-do it when we get the fixed version up.

                          So much for testing. Sorry.

                            SO lucky i am !!!
It works, just two things for the moment:
                            - Can't change the buffer size in squeezelite setting, --> wrong format for 8196:16392 , but seriously "blank" works fine
-the volume of LMS goes back to default setting

I've rebooted many times to be check everything, because of some message "backup failed" appeared
