    Announce: Album Catalog Creator v3

**** EDIT: Version v3.3 RC is released. Refer to http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpo...8&postcount=95 ***

Album Catalog Creator is a separate program that will generate a HTML catalog of your Squeezebox Server music library. The catalog can be useful to have a printed catalog of your music or to exchange it with friends. You can i.e. create a PDF of your music catalog.

I just uploaded version 3 of Album Catalog Creator. I thought it was justified to upgrade a major version number because of the following:
    - Completly redesigned GUI
    - Support for Track ratings (requires Erland's Trackstat plugin)
    - New include/exclude filter based on the comment field

    Other changes are:
REMOVED: Ignore preceding 'The' in artist names when sorting (has been replaced by ARTISTSORT option)
REMOVED: Alternative cover art name (obsolete as it has been replaced by Squeezebox Server)
FIXED: Album header was not centered in Firefox due different CSS support over IE
FIXED: When 'Use alternative header background image' was selected, headers contained ### CAPSTART #### and ### CAPEND ####

Attached are some new screenshots of the new GUI.

Although I've conducted many test there is always a chance I may have missed something. Please reply on the forum if you have found an issue. I also appreciate if you share you thoughts about ACC.

    Download is available at:

    Regards,

    Frank

This looks great but I reviewed the HELP screen and cannot solve the data source name error I get when trying to run it. I have downloaded and installed the MySQL ODBC driver using the Install bat file, on the same Windows7 machine where I have Squeezecenter running. Is there a more detailed instruction / install / troubleshoot doc/discussion?

Have you downloaded and installed the v5.1 version of the MySQL driver from the MySQL site (other versions will not work)?
If you have a 64 bit version of Windows running you must download and install the 32 bit MySQL driver. The 64 bit one will not work.

If you are running ACC on the same machine where SBS is running, do not configure the remote server settings.

I downloaded version 5.1.6 and ran the bat file (install.bat). Is there a way to tell whether it's really installed after running that?

32 bit Win7 so should be okay there.

How do I zero them out? I tried removing everything but the drive letter won't disappear.

Enter the IP number 127.0.0.1 to use the local computer. IT should work now.

If you want to remove all settings just remove the HKEY-CURRENT_USER\Software\ACC key from the registry. This is where all settings are stored.

            Excellent. That IP address works.

            ----
I downloaded the ODBC driver again. This time, instead of the ZIP file, that has multiple pieces, I downloaded the MSI file, which is an all-in-one installer. And no more error!

I'm not sure if anyone has raised this situation: You've printed a beautiful color catalog of 100 or 200 pages long - great - but now I've bought a few new albums. I don't really want to print a whole new catalog just to include a handful of new albums.

Instead, I think I'd want to print a separate catalog of albums created after a certain date - sort of like an addendum. Can the app do this using any of the available options or is this something new? Any other way of handling? I guess I could use a Genre or Comment of "New" and use that condition?

                Thanks.

That is actually a brilliant Idea! It is a new option but I think adding a new filter that will allow one to enter a date that is used as 'from' date would do the trick. I'll do some research on it and get back on this.

                    Error running ACC 3.0.1

                    Hello,

today I tried ACC version 3.0.1 but unfortunately i got the following error. See screenshot. It's partly in Dutch but I think you'll understand, Frank. I have to say that ACC version 2.1 runs fine, so I don't understand the ODBC-driver error. Does anybody have a clue? Thanks in advance.

                    Best regards, Rene.

Version 3.x uses a different ODBC driver than version 2.x. Details on the web site. I don't know whether this is the problem BUT if you didn't install the newer ODBC driver, give that a try.

Thanks Nathan for your reply. But according to the website ODBC v5.1 is required for ACC v2.0 and up. Since ACC 2.1 is running fine here I think the ODBC driver v5.1 is installed correctly on my PC. There must be something else wrong.

                        Regards, Rene.

Took a look in the logfile myself. Last 2 lines were:

STATUS : fnCreateACCTable: Table for track ratings does not exists in the database. Running with bDisplayRatings disabled!
STATUS : fnCreateACCTable():sql(1):Create table ACC SELECT DISTINCT CONVERT....etc.

Disabled the 'Add bitrate to codec info'-option in ACC and voila....! Up and running. But I have been able in v2.1 to turn this option on so there's still something wrong. Thanks for the log-file suggestion. Are you still interested in the log-file?

                            Regards, Rene

Oops... Displaying the bitrate only works when the trackstat plugin is installed. The patch will be available this evening.
