How can I play all my favourites/ add to playlist?
How can I play all my favourites/ add to playlist?
Hi, Been a happy squeezebox owner for 8 months now, Just One thing I cant figure out.. Have added about 80 songs to my favourites. Id like to play all my favourites, but the only way i can seem to do this is by adding one song at a time from my favourites to my current playlist. There must be an easier way surely?
Cheers
Baz
You may want to experiment around with different skins. The radically different ones like Fishbone, Touch/Nokia770 and slimFX might have drag-and-drop capability, as might the Moose and FatGooey control programs.
I've never tried this particular operation with them, so I'm not sure though.
Boom (PQP3 - late beta, PQP1 - early beta), Squeezebox Radio (PB1 - early beta)
Fishbone will have drag/drop in at least the playlist part of the skin starting in SS7.0. Not sure if adding to favorites is part of that function set. I did some preliminary dinking around with an alpha version of KDF's fine work, and it's really cool stuff.
slimFx definitely has some drag/drop capabilities. I have to think that adding to favorites would be in that mix.
Nokia770/Touch does NOT have any drag/drop.
I happen to be working today on drag/drop capabilities, but sadly for a different application, at my paying job
cheers,

I think you could also use some of Erland's excellent plugins such as Dynamic Playlist and Trackstat. You can then put Ratings of 1-5 on your songs (I guess you'd rate all of your favorite songs as 5) and then create a plylist that plays everything rated only a 5. You can even choose which Genres to include or not.

many thanks, but I feel I have to put in a disclaimer on this. I can't
promise any of it will stay through an official release. Since the
code is in an experimental stage, it seemed as good a time as any to
try to see what ajax can offer. Drag and drop is there for favourites
pages, and for the playlist page, but there are limits. Drag and drop
cannot work across frames, so the current functions are only for
reordering and deleting. It could be possible to add a "hotspot" for
dropping a playlist item to make it a favourite, but this will require
more global support server/SD side. I don't have the kind of time to
maintain something like that unilatterally. The playlist handling is
already fairly heavy, and the 'ajax' updates suffer from it. I'm not
sure drag & drop is a step up in UI, if the response actually
"appears" to be slower.
I do, however, hope that the issues can be worked out and much greater
functionality gained from it.
