LMS 8.0.0 on Synology 216II not scanning new music - database is locked

I have a Synology 216II running LMS 8.0.0 which is unable to scan for new music.
I can still listen on my devices but can't add any new music to my library.

I hope someone can advise me how to get this working again.

Sorry in advance if I'm posting in the wrong place.

Unfortunately I can't remember how to update my LMS to the latest version even if that would help.
Stopping and restarting LMS makes no difference.

The user interface always shows Scanning - view progress, however there is not much progress to see, and Abort scan has no effect:

Update:

I managed to stop my existing LMS, and install LMS ("latest") using docker following the easy step by step instructions in the following post (scroll down).

As a side effect a new scan was made and everything seems to be working again.
