New streaming service from Presto Music

I buy most of my music these days by downloading from Presto Music who have an extensive catalogue of both Jazz and Classical. It seems they have just introduced a streaming service. I don't use streaming myself so I have no idea of its functionality and whether they publish their API but thought it worthwhile bringing it to the attention of forum members.

We’re so excited to announce that the Presto Music Streaming Service, created specifically for classical and jazz lovers, is now live and the new apps are available for download!

That part was clear, but I didn't see anything about how much per second.

Even one dollar/euro/pound per hour has a potential to add up fast. In the olden days, CompuServ charged by the minute, and it was easy to run up $70 bills in a month without doing much.

It is advertised as FROM £10.99 so I presume there is a base cost plus some kind of time overcharge but as you say it isn't at all clear.

Edit. I had a compuserve account! Showing our age.

My reading of it is that the rights holders that get paid per second not that listeners are charged per second.

I asked Presto Customer Service about connecting to LMS in a manner similar to Qobuz, and whether there was an API. Here is the reply (I am not sure I was understood):

"Connection to audio speakers and third party speakers is a high priority for us, and we are working towards a number of solutions. At present, our service will connect wired from computer, mobile device and tablet to an audio system or Airplay and Bluetooth. We are aware that this is not an ideal situation for customers looking to take advantage of high resolution, and we hope to bring more features in the near future."

LMS 8.3.1 (in Daphile), Material Skin and Qobuz plugins. Daphile on minipc server and players. Control by browsers in windows. Musichi for tagging.
