It's quite simple actually: this behaviour will occur in subforums where no posts have been made since the migration. If you just go into such a subforum, open a random post and leave it again the subforum will now be marked as read.

Trial and error. It irritated me no end that the built-in "Mark as read" functionality didn't do anything for subforums which I was 100% certain that I'd marked as read before the migration, so I began thinking about what could be going wrong. To me it seems logical the migration wouldn't have included such "volatile" data (if it's even stored in the DB at all), so from there it was just trying what solved it

With my last addition of stations I have had to remove nearly all of the extra text that explained a few things because of the 10K posting limit.
Any chance of increasing the per post limit to 15k?

I really like that you can go to a thread, and choose "photos" to see the images associated with that thread. I thought (imagined?) that I could go to my profile and see all of the images that I have posted in the past. I think it would be useful for when a query is repeated, and my brain recalls that I posted a photo that would help, sometime in my foggy past. Especially if scanning and picking the image led to the thread it was in (kind of a visual "find the thread"). I tried to find it, maybe it was my imagination?

I came across the 10k limit when trying to paste a screenshot into a post. I know other users have pasted images so how do you paste an image without hitting the limit?

Hmm... file uploads should be handled differently. They shouldn't count as comment bytes, but have their own much higher limit.

Upleading images via the image icon works OK but I thought I read you could also copy and paste images directly into posts now which would be much quicker. I believe d6jg is copy and pasting screenshots from his iPhone.

Yes, I've tested that myself, too. But I guess that's a limitation of the browser or the underlying system. If the browser can't handle uploads transparently, but puts them in the comment fields, then I'd expect things to go wrong.

Great - have just put the extra text back into the "announce" post.

Has anyone using Android managed to copy and paste an image?

I said I’d get my colleague to try. He has upto date phone (v13) and an even more up to date tablet (v15). Both have the ability to copy an image to clipboard. My wife’s phone (v10) does not. What version of Android are you running?

I have a v13 if you need me for the test, what would you like me to try specifically?

if you look at the Current Listening thread in Music you will see Michael and I and others have posted now playing screenshots. These are from iOS where the screenshot is copied to clipboard then pasted directly into the body of the post. Slarti is trying to replicate this technique with Android.

My colleague’s phone v13 will copy to clipboard but he can’t test the paste bit - not interested in music but he is a full geek as far as tech goes

Android 12. I found an app that allowed me to copy images but pasting them doesn't work. It tries to paste them in the 10000 character limit comment section.
