However i do have a small question, on my screen, under artist it shows the composer first followed by the actual artist. Is it possible to get it to only display the album artist?
And if some kind person reading this could post the line that needs to be changed, as i have not got a clue what to do.

    Russ.

Has anyone managed to get this to display on a wifi photo frame?
how do you have these settings?
You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...

Thanks Phil, I did not think of that, unticked and problem solved.
At the begining of this thread, John Swenson posed the idea that it would look good on an wifi enabled photo frame. I too think that its a very neat idea, so i did a quick google search of wifi photo frames and like Stoker, I can't see a frame that enables web browsing as such. Does one exist?
Once again many thanks to Starfleetcommand for this incredibly simple but very useful idea.

I think you need to do a clear and rescan for this to take effect

Just thought I'd post an update on this, a complete clear and rescan has not solved this problem.
At the moment this is not an "end of the world" type problem, as the display on my touch behaves correctly, it just seems to be the 'Now Playing' display thats giving me problems, as is the Squeezebox Server right hand pane in GUI mode.
If anyone has any ideas on this, then please chip in.

Both the right-hand ui pane and the now-playing dispay use the "contributors" data structure, which is the list of ALL involved in an album - regardless of any settings...

I'll see if there is any way round this on the now-playing display - the ui is what it is...

Thanks Phil, I appreciate your help.
I know that the GUI will always display what it does, but I'm hoping that the "Now Playing Display" can be altered to filter out the unwanted bits.
Once again, I really do appreciate your help, and the time and effort you are putting into this.

Russ - I spent a couple of hours in this but got nowhere. The code that populates the contributors structure is in base.js

I tried hacking that around, but no joy.

                      I'll take another look...

(Just seen this, but feeling a bit sheepish here...)

Can anybody tell me the installation directory for a Mac running Squeezebox Server please?

                          Hi

Just tried this out for the first time and am having a few problems and was hoping for a little help.

I got the zip file linked in the origonal post in this thread, is this the most up to date version? A comment in nowplaying.html says version 2.0.

I unzipped the files and copied nowplaying.html to /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/HTML/EN/html/SqueezeJS which is on my Ubuntu server machine.

I then pointed my browser (tried IE and Firefox from my Windows PC and the browser in my Sony Playstation3) at:

Where 192.168.1.199:9000 is the address I use to access the regular Squeezebox Server web interface.

I get a black screen with a clock in the top left hand corner and "Track (0:00) (0:00)" and "Artist" but no album art and no information about what's playing at all. It looks like what I'd expect to see if the page didn't know about the player. Do you have to set it up somehow so that it knows what the name of the player is?

Any help would be much appreciated.
                          Cheers

What seems to happen for me is that if I open up the Squeezeserver web interface on another tab the NowPlaying screen will pick up the details for whatever player I have selected on the web interface.

You have to have the album showing on squeezebox server (Right Hand Pane) GUI, with the player that you have selected (if you have more than one). Then you open "The Now Playing" screen.

This is from the readme file:-
"This html may show a blank page when initially installed. To correct, launch the SqueezeCenter or SqueezeBox Server web interface in Internet Explorer on the
same computer used to display this html and select the player you wish this html to show. Then refresh do a CTRL-F5 to do a full refresh of this html. Not sure
why this step is necessary, but that is what I've found in my testing. Also, to change the player this html shows, from the same computer launch the SqueezeCenter
web interface and select the player to display. Then do a CTRL-F5 to do a clean refresh of this html page. The new player should now be displayed."

                                Hope this helps.

                                Russ.
