    USB Remote Control

Dear Comunity, please could you advise how to setup an USB remote control in piCore player? I have bought the remote below:

Is there any chance to make it work?

    Thanks!!!

    See https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...e-control-keys
There might be other relevant threads - but look for ones related to USB remotes not GPIO-based.

Thank you for your quick answer. I have read the thread you kindly shared. I have put the dongle on my rpi 4 with pCp but the remote is not working. I have tried the remote with my TV and it is working on the TV.

How can I enable the remote control, as it does not seem working at the moment with pcp? Reading the forum, I have tried to install Jivelite and IR remote control (just install without set them up), but nothing happened. Any advice? Thanks

See the example in the thread that I linked to.

Did you reboot with the USB part already attached?

Your should not need lirc for this because your remote almost certainly emulates a keyboard.

That looks very similar to the example linked to ... for example:
                  Code:
                  [ 9120.112297] hid-generic 0003:1915:1047.0005: input,hidraw1: USB HID v1.01 Keyboard [ZY.Ltd ZY Control] on usb-0000:01:00.0-1.3/input0
I suggest removing LIRC and restarting pCP and then try again to see if any of the remote keys have any effect at all on Jivelite.

I forgot to mention, as you advised I have uninstalled IR Remote control and I left just Jivelate. After the reboot nothing changed. I have tried to put a keyboard as well. Also the keyboard is not working.

Is it possible I have to active something, maybe in LMS? just an idea.......unfortunately I have not found a lot info for this tutorial.

                    Any suggest?

                    Thanks again!!!

Should work with a regular keyboard

If the remote and the keyboard are not working, is it possible I jumped one step ......

I have tried the keyboard and the remote with jivelite uninstalled and with jivelite installed. That is just what I have done so far.

I have had a look at the interesting links you have passed, but I do not know from where I have to start, also because the remote is not working at all in my case.

Do you think I should do something more than installing jivelite by pCP tweaks? Cheers

                          USB Port Not Working?

I use exactly the same remote, which was just plug and play on my installation.

The fact that your keyboard does not work either suggests a USB port issue. Which port on the RPi4 are you using? Have you tried other ports?

Thank you for your help too and for confirming the same remote is working.

I am using an usb DAC, it is working in every usb port. I am using a rpi 4 2 gb ram. So USB seems working fine.

I do not know if it is important or not, but I am not using any external display, I am just using my browser to display picore on my laptop or phone.

I just would like to control the volume, stop/play, skip songs with my remote, without using my phone or laptop.
