    If you type
    ps -ef | grep jive

a few times you should see something like this
    Code:
    9152 root 0:00 {jivelite.sh} /bin/sh /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite.sh
    25913 root 0:05 /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite
    25953 tc 0:00 grep jive
The numbers at the start of the lines with Jivelite should be the same each time - unless Jivelite is stops and is restarted.
Your numbers will not be the same as mine.

Are the numbers for the line which has "/opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite" at the end changing?

You do not appear to have a line that ends
        /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite

So - it looks like it is not running.

I guess it starts and then fails.

I thought it was possible to run Jivelite without a screen attached but maybe I have misremembered or there is a special setting required for the RPi to make Jivelite think that there is really a screen when there is not.
        Like the old hdmi_force_hotplug=1

Ok do not worry, we tried. It was a good try. I have bought a hdmi converter for rpi.

What I have to do next? Connecet the rpi to a screen and follow the stetting steps. Once the steps are done, I can unplug the screen, correct?

Do you advise any tips or tricks during the first setup?

          Thanks!!!

            its literally 3 things,

            set language
            set skin
go to picoreplayer settings and save to SD card

the i suggest you leave connected whilst you make sure keyboard and remote works

However, I just took a Pi and booted it without HDMI connected and Jivelite exits immediately after it shows the piCorePlayer logo.
If I boot the same Pi with the Same SD card and with HDMI screen attached then Jivelite works.

It is a setup that I have used for CEC testing so it is configured for kms rather than fkms.
There might be a setting to make it work (video= in cmdline.txt) but I have not experimented further.

fkms and config.txt hdmi settings might work

I have tried to connect the rpi to my TV via hdmi but the screen is all black. I have tried to uninstall and install jivelite again, but no success, still the screen is black. The screen is working because when I reboot pcp I can see the codes.

Should I try to reinstall pcp?

What is exactly fkms? is it the Resize file system?

I have enabled detailed logging in my test system and can see this when Jivelite runs when booted without a screen attached

                      Code:
                      ERROR jivelite.ui.draw - jive_surface_set_video_mode:855 SDL_SetVideoMode(1920,1080,0): No video mode large enough for 1920x1080
                      ERROR jivelite.ui.draw - jiveL_set_video_mode:914 Video mode not supported: 1920x1080
I might be able to resolve that by forcing Jivelite to use a different skin (e.g. Joggler) or faking EDID etc.

OK ... setting it to a 640x480 skin - saving it and the booting without the screen attached and I now have a pCP running with Jivelite permanently running in background.

                        Edit:
and I can control it with the keyboard (I don't have a USB remote to try)

Hi Paul, that is a super news, thank you so much. So I have a big hope and a chance to use the remote control without display. It will be a great feature for this amazing player .

Unfortunately, at the moment I am cannot see jivelite screen. So I have installed pcp from the start, I have chosen piCorePlayer 8.1.0 - 64Bit Kernel as I have rpi 4 2 gb. I have installed jivelite, rebooted, but still the screen is black. I have link the screen via hdmi, as before the screen is working as I can see the boot codes of pcp at the start.

Do you have any idea why I cannot see jivelite?

Suggestion ... use the 32-bit version.
More important though ... did you make the changes that are listed in the post that I linked to above?

Not yet, I thought that as at the moment I have HDMI, it was better to proceed step by step. If I do not see jivelite with the screen attached, it is not a good start, isn't it?

I will install 32-bit version. Let you know.......cross fingers....

So I have installed the 32 bit version. Unfortunately the screen is still all black. However without jivelite installed there is no signal. With Jivelite installed there is signal but it is all black.

Do you suggest me to try what in https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...=1#post1027716 or I should fix something first?
