    Hifiberry Dac2HD crashes squeeze box

Hi, I just finished setting up a rpi4 with picoreplayer and LMS. It plays through the headphone jack well. Then when I attach the Dac2HD and set the audio output to Dac2HD then squeezebox won't run. I just get an error when I try to restart it. If I switch back to headphones then all good. Any tips? Sorry if this has been covered before! Henry

You will need to post some diagnostic information. What specific output are you selecting?
piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM.

      Hi Paul,

I have a HiFiBerry DAC2 HD and in the Squeezelite settings I have selected "HiFiBerry DAC2HD (and Pro)".

I am trying to find more info on the HiFiBerry - I have just plugged it into the main connector. Are there any other physical connections to be made? Does it have any LEDs that light up?

      Thanks!

      Henry

It looks like I need to load a driver for the HiFiBerry?

No other connections other than the 40 pin header should be needed.

I have a few different Hifiberry DAC/Digi boards (no DAC2HD), all of them have a green LED near the centre of the board. I think this should be lit at all times, try re-attaching the board?

Yours wouldn't be the first HiFiBerry board reported on these forums to be faulty.

At this point others would ask you to load HiFiBerry OS on your Pi, to see if it works with that.

Thanks Kidstypike. I don't have a spare sd card so I guess I gotta go shopping.

I loaded the HiFiberry OS. It gets an IP address, but I cant login with the IP or http://HiFiBerry.local. Is there another dac that I could try?
