Need something Squeezebox to add to Sony HAP-S1.

My friend has a Sony HAP-S1. Its a rotten thing, will not play BBC iplayer sounds and keeps updating for nothing.
My question is: is there anything Squeezebox he could add as a streaming input to the Sony so he could get iPlayer sounds.
It would have to be ready made as he has no knowledge of the subject. From the forum I see many Squeezebox varieties but am ignorant
of them.

Looks like your friend is out of luck - no upnp/DLNA or airplay, so no bridge will work.

If your friend can manage a smart phone or tablet running BBC Sounds app, a 2nd hand Chrome Cast Audio should work.

A squeezebox server would require a computer and someone to do support

Less than $100 for a WiiM Mini connected via optical will get BBC, other internet radio, and online music services. Control from tablet or phone.

It needs to get iplayer. Do anything Squeezebox have an audio output as the Hap has audio input.

Any Squeezebox player can use the BBC Sounds plugin if there is a working LMS on the network.

iPlayer is the TV app.
BBC Sounds is audio

What you really need is a combined player and LMS server but there is no such thing available on a prebuilt basis but it’s easy enough to do if you source a Raspberry Pi 4

I have pCP and Daphile myself but wanted a ready built add on for my friend.
I am a bit surprised it does not exist.
