    Super Date Time Stopped Updating

No longer get any weather. Just sits there with the * indicating it is updating but it doesn't. Tried re-installing. Nothing. It was working just fine this morning. Any ideas?

Removed the plugin prefs and restarted the server. New prefs got created and SDT worked again but hated the thought of re-entering all of the customized settings. So I restored the prefs file from a backup.... same issue. That led me to believe it was something with Weather.com..... So I tried using another zip code. Still not updating. So then I went to wunderground to locate the wunderground weather station ID nearest me. Removed the zip code and plugged in the wunderground ID and viola!

I can't live without this plugin. Every morning when my Boom wakes me up, the first thing I look at is the weather. My wife has even grown used to it and depends on it now.

Try replacing your Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file with this modified PAR file. I got this from the super-long SDT thread and it fixed my issues. Also has a modification to correct the HI / LO display on the Boom.

Be sure to remove the .ZIP extension -- it's looking for .PAR. (I renamed it so the forum would allow me to upload the file.)

Remember: it's a good idea to make a copy of your current .PAR file (.BAK or whatever) before overwriting it...just in case.

Squeezeboxen: Sadly, I no longer own any Squeezebox
Controlled by: iPhone 5S running iPeng
Server: MSI Nettop 100 running VortexBox 2.2, LMS 7.7.2
        Network: AT&T U-verse, Apple Time Capsule A1409, 5 Netgear Powerline AV200 Adapters
Music Sources: Local FLACs, Rhapsody, Pandora

Squeezebox is dead. Long live Squeezebox!

Thank you... I did that and everything is working again.

            ReadyNas?

My SuperDateTime stopped working also. However, I'm running Squeezebox server off of a ReadyNas NV+. Any idea how I go about fixing SDT so it starts updating again?

I tried changing my Weather.com identifier from my ZIP to USMI0512, and that didn't help. I have my Weather Underground station set as KMIMANCH4. If I leave my Weather.com field blank, SDT will display the Weather Underground info, but it has a ? in the corner, and won't provide forcasts since there is no data being loaded from Weather.com.

I suggest trying the solution offered in this thread, namely, replacing your existing Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file with the modified file linked above. It worked for me, starfleetcommand, and many other SDT users.

Remember to back up your existing Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file first, just in case.

EDIT: Sorry, I was assuming that you can get access to a command prompt on your ReadyNAS (as administrator). If not, then I'm not sure what to suggest. Maybe copying the file using WinSCP? Although that would still require a root/admin login, at least you wouldn't need a command shell.

                Dumb computer guy here...

What if I can't find a .par file? I did a search for *.par on my Windows Vista machine and found nothing. Drilling down into the DateTime folder in Plugins didn't reveal anything like this, either.
I’m down to one SB Touch and a Raspberry Pi. Mac Mini as a server (OS X Catalina). iPeng is my controller of choice. LMS 7.9.4. Erland’s plug ins are what keep me in the ecosystem.

On Windows 7 (64 Bit), the .par file resides in this directory.

                  C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib

If your running 32 bit Windows, look in

                  C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib

Please make a backup copy of the existing .par first.

Hmmm...no subfolders in that particular 'Plugins' folder. There is another Plugins folder under 'Slim' which does have numerous subfolders, but no SuperDateTime subfolder.

I just reinstalled SDT, and it is working for now, but I fiddled with it some last night and got it to temporarily work...only to have it stop updating sometime this morning.

Slim is the old server so wouldn't expect to see anything in that directory if you're running the latest Squeezebox software and SDT plugin. Vista should be similar to Windows 7 as far as the location of the plugin goes. Is there a Squeezebox folder under C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)?

Try the new .par file given a few threads up. The trick is to remove the .zip extension and place it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib for 64 bit Windows or C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib for 32 bit Windows. Always make a backup first.

There is. The path is the same as what you posted. It just stops after Plugins (i.e., no subfolders within that folder).

I tried searching for a .par file, or anything with "superdatetime" in the file name. No luck in either case.

Btw, it updated twice for me, then the "dash of doom".

Check to see if the folder is hidden. Go to Control Panel, under Folder Options. Click on the View tab and ensure the bullet for "Show hidden files, folders" is selected. Then try navigating to the path. When I do a search for *.par, it doesn't show either but I did find it under that path.

                              It's not.

BTW, thanks for trying to help me out. Looks like I may be out of luck until Greg posts an update to SDT. At least, I hope that fixes it....
