    Hi all.
I'm using daphile with a Spotify Famiily account.
I tried to have my playlists but it's really long and I can't see somes playlists.
I activated Spotify Protocol Handler and Spotifyfamilly1 plugins.
It's works fine but impossible to have my playlists.
    Search playlist doesn't works too.
Can someone explain me how to do?
    thx

Thanks Michael for the reassurance that the problem was at my end - which it was. Helper app not running, but it is now, and Spotify playing. Yipee!
I will watch this forum for opinion as to what is best when it does finally stop. Long live SB ......

Yes. There have been reports about the playlist menu being slow, and
    other intermittent issues, though.

    > - if so is it going to stop working at some point

Yes. Spotify says they were about to shut down systems used by Triode's
plugin (and SB Radio/Touch fwiw) before the end of the year.

Check your settings and the Spotify helper application log file.

Hi can someone please give me a summary/the big picture on what is happening with Spotify, Triodes plugin and SB devices. There is so much highly specific stuff in multiple threads that I cannot see the wood for the trees.

I have multiple SB devices and have used Spotify via Triodes plugin for years with no problem. Recently I have been travelling and have used my Spotify account on my Android phone. Back home now and I cannot get Spotify to work on my SB devices, all the menus seem to work normally but when I try to play I get "Connection timed out".
Initially I thought this may be due to me having used my Spotify account with my Android device recently. But 2 days later with no access to Spotify from any other device it is still not working.

    So:
    - should Spotify still work via Triodes plugin
    - if so is it going to stop working at some point
    - .... and if it shoud be working why am I getting "Connection timed out".

It's possibly due to Spotify wanting to increase their revenue. If you access their services via a third party app such as Squeezebox/LMS then it will be more difficult for them to harvest your data and up-sell their services. Think back to when they tried insisting that you logged in via Facebook.

I did ask at the ickstream forum and received the following reply.

"This has been known for some time now and is a bit of a moving target. In any case they mentioned they will have a new player available by the time they discontinue it, and we'll look into supporting it.
We have implemented the web api and are also looking into the esdk at the moment, which may provide playback possibilities."

In some countries there's also Qubuz. I don't have experience with them. They are not available in Denmark where I am. But they seem to be expanding and have high-res streaming too. And yes, there's a plugin for LMS too.

to see some of these you can google search using these 3 terms: slimdevices libspotify end

and you'll find dozens of them. There's not one single thread on this issue.
Would you happen to know if Spotify would still work via Ickstream, when this happens?
