Announce: PGAScores plugin for SuperDateTime

I've written a plugin that displays the leaderboard of the current PGA tournament. SuperDateTime for SC7 is a requirement for this plugin. Thanks to Greg Brown for creating the API for the SDT plugin!

There is a configuration page to tweak some things as far as how many players you want to show. Top 5 is the default.

You can also track a couple players for those that are in a fantasy golf league or just really want to follow a certain player.

I posted this in the SDT thread but I'll move it to its own thread so it stays out of Greg's way. I made a small change to the version that was posted there. I'll keep posting changes as the website decides to change their html and breaks this plugin.

I may be the only one interested in PGA scores but I'll post it anyway.

This version should display the PGA and Champions Tour leaderboards. You can enable/disable either tour from the settings page if you are only interested in one of them.

I didn't realize that the Champions Tour didn't play every week. I've been seeing the same results for a few weeks now. I'll see what I can do about that.

I also see that the asterisk is used on the website to denote an amateur. I was using it to denote the defending champ. I might have to pick a different symbol.

Hopefully the U.S Open is a good one this week. Will Tiger be able to turn it on after not playing since the Masters? Should be interesting.

Well we've seen the last of Tiger's name scrolling across our Squeezeboxes this year. It was fun to watch last week though. I guess that makes Phil #1 for awhile.

If you downloaded the version from the SDT thread then you could upgrade to the one found in this thread. I'll also need to post a new version for it to run on SC 7.1, or you can just do the usual install.xml modification.

I'm glad someone else is getting some use out of this plugin. Very cool.

Works very nice! Are the parenthesis the players starting score or position? I like that you can set the # of positions and a couple of favorite players.

I had stopped checking the SDT thread so I didn't see this until just now! The parenthesis shows what hole they have completed for that round or their tee time if they haven't started yet. You've probably figured that out by now.

Well, we know the best player in the world won't win this week. It's on TV early over here so I won't see much until the weekend. Ratings will no doubt be way down without Tiger.

PGA Championship Week!

I thought I'd post a version that is ready to go for SC 7.*. The only other change is that the defending champ is now shown with the carat symbol ^ instead of the asterisk * because the website uses the asterisk to denote an amateur. I'd rather use the asterisk but thought it might cause confusion. No big deal either way probably.

Oops

Looks like the tournament is going to start on Friday this week and end on Monday (US holiday). The plugin is currently assuming the golf week starts on Thursday and ends Sunday so it is displaying some ugliness today and won't show the final round on Monday. I'll work on this issue.

Just an FYI, the regular PGA tour event wasn't showing up this weekend because the Ryder Cup scoreboard was on the main page that I normally retrieve the scores from. Should be back in action next week.

2009 Season Starts Tomorrow....

And my plugin isn't going to work. Looks like they have changed the HTML on the website so I'll have to tweak my code a little bit. I'll have a new version out in the next few days.
