[Announce] MusicInfoSCR 3.99 Beta (SlimServer 7 only)

For the adventurous SlimServer 7 users I've uploaded a new version of my MusicInfoSCR screensaver. It now allows for even more information to be displayed on your Squeezebox or Transporter.

With the new font override option you can select any font available to be used for up to nine elements (left, center, right; top, middle, bottom) per display. The settings pages are still a little rough, but start playing now - and don't forget to hit the Save Settings button to see your changes on the display.

The file is available for download from my site:

Just unzip the file into your server's Plugins folder and restart SlimServer.

    Have fun!
    Michael

    Thanks Michael,

I'll have a good play with that when I've got a bit more time but for now I can't get the preview to work, I'm using IE7, do you know which settings are affecting this?

What preview do you mean? The "live preview" of the settings with the currently playing song?

Yes, so I can set it up. Your screenshot shows the display, mine is just a white box. I can't see a save button either.

        Thanks

Actually the save button is ok if I use Fishbone, It's just missing on the new default skin.

          Cheers

Thanks for reporting this. I thought I had sorted this out before uploading, but it seems it's related to SlimServer's dynamic loading of the settings pages :-(. Please try the following URL instead (make sure to use your server and player ID):

That does the trick, I can see the display now.
I'll have another play tomorrow night when I've got some time.

              Thanks

Thanks Craig. I can confirm that there's a general issue with settings pages loading JavaScript. It just doesn't work. As I'll soon be working on the settings pages for the new skin (and probably the old, too), this issue will be adressed then. Until I've fixed it, please use the link mentioned to set up MusicInfoSCR on your server:

...where after the playerid you'll have to put your player's MAC address. I'm sorry for the inconvenience :-/

Thanks for converting your plug-ins. As I'm quite new to slimserver I've not played with many plugins yet as I pretty much went over to SS7 straight away because of the digital input switching problem. But you developers/programmers have started adapting your plugins for SS7 now so here goes!
Anyway, I've installed it. As I've never used it before I'm just getting used to what all the different boxes are for. I will have a play with it over the weekend and report back.
I have a transporter so can try out the 2nd screen stuff too.

Initial thoughts: I must admit to not really know what I'm doing with it yet, but when I set extended text display to custom I get overlapping text on the 2nd screen whilst navigating the menus. Now it says custom, but I'm not sure how to customise this view. It is probably down to me not knowing how to use it yet. If however, it should not be possible to overlap text on the 2nd screen (even if you're an idiot like me) then there is a problem with it. Please dont spend anytime trying to resolve this issue because it_is_probably down to my stupidity.

Probably nobody besides me knows: they're new in this version.

Argh... that's another issue with the dynamic loading of the settings pages :-/. Once you've turned on that option, you should reload the page. It will then display more boxes to be configured.

It's working good for me now.
Any chance of an option to set up all my players the same rather than one by one?

Some people are never satisfied ;-)

That's part of what I wanted to do in MIS 4.0 - but it won't make it. I planned to split the setup pages in to two: one "global", where different screen configurations can be done and saved. Then the second, player related, where you select configurations for your players. But this will have to wait...
