Hi. Just downloaded SqueezePad to make my iPad an end player. I was expecting it to work after the in app purchase. But it seems to work without such an in app purchase. I can’t see any option for in app purchase. Anybody else experience the same?
To the best of my knowledge, when an app is declared to "contain in app purchases" it just means the opportunity to purchase (where the developer will get a tiny cut of the purchase), it does not mean you have to make a purchase before using the app.
Again, this is the best of my understanding. I recall that I have several free apps that have "in app purchases" in their download declaration. But, I am an android user, I know nothing apple.

Thanks Jim. I bought the app and this before the in app purchase acts as a remote to control an end point. The in app purchase turns the iPad into an end point too. But I didn’t pay for that. It just works. That’s is what I meant.

Right. I think I tried to indicate that the "In app purchase" does not mean you have to buy for the (in your case) end point to work. In your description, it seems like you are saying "I didn't buy anything and it just wors". IMO, the In App Purchase (opportunity to purchase) comes into play when you enable the end point. That is, you buy and use the remote app, no IAP, use it as an endpoint, IAP becomes available (but no obligation to purchase)
Do you see any advertised opportunity to go to another site in your app? If not, the app developer might have just installed a "hook" for future IAP (get you agree so IAP's can be added at a future time.
Again, my understanding for how it works..and glad it works to your happiness!
I have SqueezePad on my iPAD and I purchased it many years ago. At that time, I had to do the "in app" purchase to also make SqueezePad an endpoint (player). But the app hasn't been updated in many years. My suspicion is that the app creator simply turned on the "endpoint/player" option for free at some point.

Gary, now your take makes sense! I am not an apple guy, so perhaps in app purchases are handled differently than with android. I just know when I download a free app and it says "In app purchase" I think, "yea whatever..." because it never comes up. Maybe though, it's because I usually don't try to enable "advanced features", who knows.
