I can see why you might want to change the order based on work - I would be the same. Personally, I re-tag the tracks so that when I am browsing albums when choosing what to play, the works appear in the right order and not the order the record producers released them in. This works well with, say, Beethoven's or Mozart's Piano Sonatas. Having done this once, then it doesn't need to be repeated each time I want to play an album. If you want to preserve the album in the issued format then you are left having to reorder the playlist each time. I suspect that unless a developer has a Personal niche requirement, they will be unwilling to spend time developing something they themselves will not use.

Alternatively choose your order then save as a new playlist.

I used to use foobar2000 where sorting is just one click away literally. Therefore, I thought sorting would be a basic function for all music players. If no one thinks sorting important, I will just use it as it is for now.

Yeah indeed its disappointing sorting has been completely ignored in LMS.. It is basic feature of most players and could be really handy.

Save a new playlist first -> Call Potpourri for sorting -> Save again with a name that I won't forget later

This is way too much work for sorting an album. If there is no easy way, that is fine.

I remember there was/is actually reverse podcast order in Spotty.. (Don't use Spotify anymore , now on Tidal) which is basic sorting.. Wish this was at least incorporated in to LMS podcasts app..

I think there is a way to select songs in particular order but that never worked for me with podcasts

Yeah I feel your pain, all those workarounds are just too much work especially for someone used to one click sort in other applications.. Don't get me wrong I love LMS its greatest ecosystem I own and I'm super grateful for everyone keeping it alive and awesome, yet there are some annoying things we need to learn to ignore I guess..

PS looking for volunteer to manually reverse order of few 500+ episode podcasts for my other half. Try to explain her she need to do work around to achieve that ;p

No need to save a new playlist first just change the order then save.

To use Potpourri, you need to save a playlist first.

OK but you could just drag the tracks and then save the new order.

Had a quick play, and this seems like an easy enough feature. Will, try to, add to Material Skin for v 3.2.0
Material debug: 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json (Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here.

Initial implementation is in the 3.2 branch of Material's git repo.

[Edit] Both playlist and queue sorting added.

Not anymore. I've added PPT to the LMS Apps menu that's accessible from all web skins and controllers. But I see that the Material part is now covered. All the better.
