Philippe, thanks so much for your hard work on these bridges, they are a huge part of what makes LMS such great software.

I experienced issues with the re-factored plugins, but didn't post details out of respect for your volunteered time. It occurs to me now that simply pasting some logs and a description of my issue would have been helpful. In the future I'll make sure to provide you with that extra data point.

Do you have an interact-etransfer/Paypal I can buy you a coffee with?

      Philippe,
First, I want to thank you for all your hard work on developing products that support the LMS/squeezebox system. Of course, it is not just you but there are many others that volunteer their own time to contribute. You have every right to be annoyed when someone complains in the manner you have described.

This community will respond in a polite manner to a question that has been asked before without a snarky response of “did you search for ‘x’”. I am amazed how quickly, and the enormous effort people, will take to help a person resolve a problem that might be unique to that person’s equipment and set-up.

All I can say is, there are a lot of people on this forum that truly appreciate your effort, so please do not let the rude minority get to you.

      Paul

Philippe, the entire LMS community owes you a debt of gratitude (in lieu of cash ) for all the time and effort you have contributed in keeping this great open source experiment not only alive but thriving. And it's not just the multitude of useful plugins that we use every day, or even the numerous LMS bug fixes and enhancements seen only by those of us who read git commit logs for relaxation --- it's also the helpfulness and patience you display with users and fellow developers alike here on the forums. You are a consummate professional and I, for one, am thankful you are here.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words - I really do appreciate.

That weekend was really bad and I obviously grossly underestimated the risk of the changes I introduced. I should know better but sometimes you get sloppy and a slap on the hand is a good reminder

Hopefully this should return to normal soon

Despite my frustration with a disappearing DLNA player due to the last round of updates, which is working fine now, I do understand the difficulties that software engineering poses on occasion.

                  Thanks for your efforts.

Thank you Philippe (and all the other developers of course) for sharing your hard work, time and expertise so freely. It's much appreciated.

I'm still using your bridge development repository - when you say you'd like people to test those releases are you mostly interested in bug reports or would "this version has no issues so far with such and such server and player setup" kind of feedback be helpful?!

Thanks - Both feedbacks are helpful (with context) from a technical and motivational point of view

Well - I've been playing for an hour or so each day on a couple of Upnp devices and airplay using an old windows 10 PC running LMS 8.3.0 and the dev bridges, and all is well

I have been a long time forum reader but only signed up recently. I absolutely love the LMS ecosystem, am using PiCorePlayer, Squeezelite-X, AirPlay bridge, and running LMS in Docker on an older Intel NUC running Linux. I am so grateful for all your hard work and time creating and maintaining so many contributions to this great project! Many, many thanks!
