Hello together,

Inspired by thread in the German forum:

I took a look at the ARD Audiothek. It seems to be it's interesting to have a deeper look into it (of course mainly for German speaking people ;-) ). Via Andorid (Material Skin / Squeezer) I did not manage to listen to audio files e.g .:

So I started looking at a plug-in. Unfortunately I don't have the time to go on - so my question: How do I get the easiest way to listen to audio files from the ARD Audiothek on Android? Or maybe someone already has a plug-in?

Hi Michael,

i just read your comment in CodeChimps Post about the development of a plugin for listening to the ARD Audiothek. I recently started to write a plugin for that. I started with the search function. When i am finished with that i will post a link to a beta version here.

Hi Max,

Sounds like a great plan. Even because of very limited time and only small knowledge of LMS Plugins and Perl - maybe I can support... at least as Beta-Tester ;-)

Hello,

here is the first very early release. Since this is my first project written in perl and with the LMS i had some trouble at first. This Version (v0.0.1) just supports searching for single audio content. The categories button is a placeholder. I will improve this version with more meta-data stuff and other features in the near future.

Hey together,

i pushed some small changes for the plugin (caching, paging, simple thumbnail loading). Additionally i created a Github workflow, which updates a nightly build with each commit in the development branch. Use https://github.com/mzedd/LMS-ARD-Aud...ghtly/repo.xml for accessing the nightly build with the latest updates. I will create a stable release in the next days.

Thanks for this development. As a German learner, it is a nice resource, and I look forward to its development...... Sad that there is not more music offered in the Audiothek.

If you want to listen to German Music - Search for "Neue Deutsche Welle" - there a few songs sometimes very simple - like "Da, da, da..."

@Max Yep - here it works w/o any issues, too! By the way maybe you could follow the instruction for a Material icon:

(Obviously 'x' can be any string). When Material sees an icon named xxxx_svg.png it assumes there is a corresponding xxxx.svg icon in the same path and will use that.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have included this into the current nightly build

In addition to that the editorial categories work now and "Most played epsiodes" and "Newest episodes" are now listed.

Wow - a new minor release

I just did a small code review and everything you've implemented works on my side perfectly. Also the Material icon is great.

Yes - I really like this App as well! And it is so fast evolving! Great!!

One question / feature request:
When using Material Skin (or some other Apps like OrangeSqueeze):
If I I select a std. Podcast (i.e. not through your App) - for example:

and then I select an episode, click on the 3-dot menue and select the 'more' entry - I get a synopsis and the duration of that podcast.
I.e. "Beschreibung: Er ist der Sheriff von Raufarhöfn. Er hat alles im Griff. Kein Grund zur Sorge. Doch als Kalmann eine Blutlache im Schnee entdeckt, überrollen ihn die Ereignisse. -> Would it be possible, that your Plugin provides the same information under 'more' - similarly to aboves material skins treatment of that Podcast 'more' entry?
