As I reported earlier I did receive an update for 8.0.1 once on the Squeezebox radio, but after install I was still on 7.7.3.

edit: Manual install for 7.8 worked, maybe I could do it manually for 8.0.1 too? Can I download the files somewhere?
You may be already have done this but if you’ve followed Ralphy’s instructions and done a factory reset of the Radio you need to make sure that it has connected to LMS and not mysqueezebox.com after restart. I made this mistake and was scratching my head for a while, wondering why the old firmware was installing, before realising!

I notice from looking at your log that you’re not running the latest LMS version so it may also help to do that first. It certainly won’t hurt!

Hats Off To The SB Community

      Gentlemen:

It's hard to believe (for me) that my use of several Squeezebox Touch (SBTs) date back only to 2010. It's seems twice that long! It was disappointing when Logitech discontinued further development of the product line, but my units have provided years of great service and tens-of-thousands of hours of listening pleasure. Thank you Ralph Irving, Michael Herger, and others.

Question: What specific added (asked for?) features for Touch users, in any, are provided in this recently-released "Community Firmware" update?

I noticed that Ralph was also involved in the development of the DSDPlayer plugin. Further, I understand decoding of MQA files can be both hardware and software based, assuming licensing of course. Is an MQAPlayer plugin out of the question?
Music Sources: Digitally Imported (6), TIDAL, Spotify, etc. > LMS 8.2.1 > Three SBTs X iPeng 9.7.4 app. Bluetooth streaming as well.
Great Room: SB Touch(1) > AudioQuest TOS > PS Audio DL3 DAC > Audio Envy 10' cables > 200w powered Martin Logan (ML) Purity speakers
      Library: SB Touch(2) > Wyred mINT > ML Motion 4 & AudioEngine 5.
Big Garage: SB Touch(3) > CullenCoax > Dayton Audio amp > Cullen Cables > ML Motion 12
      Use/Go Anywhere: Music apps > Bluetooth-enabled systems.

I may be imagining it but the display seems brighter after installing the new firmware on the Radio. I think my Radios used to have a lower brightness when not playing than when playing. I can't remember if an applet was responsible for this behaviour but it may have been. Now it seems to be at maximum brightness even in a dim room only dimming in complete darkness.

It didn't download for a whole day until one hour after I posted the log here.

I am connected to LMS, but like you it took me a second to realize at first I wasn't

I don't know what the issue was but the firmware finally downloaded and I'm using it right now, so all is good.

            Thanks for the support

              Thanks for the link.

I've added back the original blue server error status ethernet and wireless icon display.
The change will be included in the next radio and controller firmware release.
              Ralphy

Squeezebox client builds donations always appreciated.

                Morning All

                Please can I check my understanding on the new firmware;

Does the new firmware resolve the regular reboots every 20 odd days?

I'm running LMS on pCp so am I right in saying that I can't currently perform the update on my Radios until some changes are made to pCp?

                Many thanks
                Ashley

You need to update LMS to v8.1.0, when your Radios connect to LMS you should be offered the new firmware.
                  Server - LMS 8.4.0 RPi4B 4GB/NanoSound ONE case/pCP 8.1.0 - 75K library, playlists & LMS cache on Sata SSD (ntfs)

Does it fix the reboots? I don't remember reading that.

Hmm, perhaps I'm getting mixed up with the bass dropout fix?

I posted this on the Radio thread, but it's probably more appropriate here. I setup a clean docker LMS 8.1 server yesterday and got my Touch updated and working fine. I tried updating a radio this morning and after doing a factory reset, it downloaded and installed OK. After the restart the wizard couldn't find any Wi-Fi networks and it looks like it's not seeing the Wi-Fi adapter. I tried another factory reset, but no change.
Ethernet works fine. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome!

We will find out for sure in around 3 weeks [emoji3]
It still seems hard to believe that this wasn't discovered for so long.

On the Radio, take the "I don't see my network" option, then "Enter my network name".
That will allow you to enter the SSID of your wireless network manually, and proceed with entering the password.

I know this, because I have recently done it...

I've been running the predecessor firmware for some months now, and I am embarrassed to say that I didn't notice this problem before. It was there, for sure...

A minor "fix" to the firmware will be needed to restore wi-fi network browsing on the Radio.

Yep, it's just the browsing that isn't working. In any event, thanks and kudos to everyone involved in getting the firmware to this stage!

No. The 21day reboot is still an issue with the 8.0.1 firmware.

You need to update LMS to 8.0.1 from December 22nd or newer. The required changes have already been applied to the pcp lms-update scripts.
