  • Hello Michael.

    Yesterday I updated Spotty from 4.8.0 -> 4.8.5.
Since that I realized that after once connected via Spotify Connect, Spotty is changing its settings. All the time it sets "hide squeezebox player in spotify connect mode from local network".
Unfortunately reset this setting is not solving the behavior, because it will be reactivated by next connect.

    • bernieluther can you share more details about your installation? OS, LMS version, potential messages in server.log?
      Michael

      "It doesn't work - what shall I do?" - "Please check your server.log and/or scanner.log file!"

        • Are you running some other service using mDNS on the same box? This could be caused by a conflict.

            • What do youn mean with "same box"?
The player is an squeezelite instance which is the same like before. The behavior is same if I connect another player.

              • bernielutherI think he means on the same device which runs LMS.

mherger I tried to shut down all my other services on the same device, but the issue persists.

Also it ran more than a year now, coexisting with the other services. The time when the issues started correlates with the release of the newest spotty version.

                • Ouch... I might have left an accidental change in the uploaded plugin archive. A new update is on its way. Please give it another try.

                  Thanks for the heads up!

                  • Hi - I ran into an issue yesterday with Spotty following a plugin update on my Win 10 64 bit development machine. Spotify stopped working, and I had a message about 64 bit helper not working, and to check the windows Visual C++ environment. Well I reinstalled this and no joy, so I checked the installed plugin folder and there was no binary in place and no sub-folder for 64 bit windows.
I manually copied the 32 bit windows Spotty binary and it all works.

Screenshot after my meddling. (i.e. now working)

Possibly something omitted in the install script or wrongly looking for a non-existent 64 bit MS Win folder?

                    • mherger the issue seems to be gone with your recent change. Thank you for the lightning fast support.

What plugin version are you running? I had a bad release out for a few hours.

Can you run the spotty.exe that came with the plugin from the command line?

                              • Yes - as I said I only have the Win32 version installed with the plugin. That runs, the warning appeared to be about a missing win64 version. I will just re-install now and see if the problem is cleared.

No still getting this message - There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. Please make sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime (64-bit!) installed on your system.

and checking the binary folder I get this.

                                Directory of C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\P lugins\Spotty\Bin

                                C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\P lugins\Spotty\Bin>

As I said I can resolve the issue by manually copying the MSWin32-x86-multi-thread version of spotty to the Bin folder. So I was thinking that there may be an issue with plugin.pm looking for a 64 bit version of Spotty.
