    This might be a data issue on Spotify's end. It wouldn't be the first time.
    That solved the issue. I left it overnight and in the morning that demon album had been exorcised out of LMS. Now I have been able to add it back correctly.

    Thank you again, and Happy New Year.

      This is not a LMS or Spotty issue, but still in the underlying
      librespot. There's no documented API to report playback. It must be
      reverse engineered - and likely isn't top of the priority list...
      If I use the Spotify app to connect to my squeezebox with Spotify connect, will it report back to Spotify?

        I fear this is still broken. And the app wouldn't report either.

          I have been using Spotty/spotfy for many years now on my Synology NAS with LMS.
          It is usually quite stable, also when I moved LMS to docker (with automatic watchtower updates)

          Since a few days however, when using Spotify, I notice similar issues as mentioned earlier in this topic. Play/next buttons respond unpredictable, next songs will not play or just replay. A different song of the queue is played than is showed in the spotify app etc.

          Used versions:
          LMS 8.3.0 - 1667251155 @ Fri Nov 4 09:20:18 CET 2022 (in Docker)
          Spotty 4.8.4

          Error log (server):
          [23-01-14 13:04:23.6717] Plugins::Spotty::API::__ANON__ (1446) error: 503 Service Unavailable
          [23-01-14 13:04:23.6920] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (130) Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Networking::Async::_async_read: Can't call method "isa" on an undefined value at /lms/Slim/Player/Squeezebox.pm line 789.
          ; fh=Slim::Networking::Async::Socket::HTTPS=GLOB(0x5 5d234a32980)

          According to the error log it looks like a networking/connection issue. Anyone any clue?

            I hope this is a temporary issue on Spotify’s end. I’ve had multiple reports since yesterday. Spotify has posted something on Twitter earlier today. But according to them the issues should be resolved.

              FWIW: we're not alone. Another Spotify user has reported the same in their forums. It's a problem with one of their web API calls: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spo...le/m-p/5488553

                I don't know if this might be related, but i've been having issues browsing by "artist" using the spotty app lately. The artists would show incomplete or not at all in the app.
                [edit]
                seems related indeed. found this in my server log:
                [23-01-15 16:12:10.0520] Plugins::Spotty::API::__ANON__ (1442) API call: me/following?limit=50&type=artist
                [23-01-15 16:12:10.0528] Plugins::Spotty::API::__ANON__ (1446) error: 503 Service Unavailable

                  Looks as multiple API resources are affected
                  Code:
                  [23-01-15 11:45:36.7838] Plugins::Spotty::API::__ANON__ (1442) API call: me/player?market=from_token

                    Thx for the feedback guys. Good to know it looks like a cause outside Spotty/LMS and myself. Hope it will quickly be fixed though.

                      For the last couple of days, my Spotify Authentication has not been working. I have rebooted my piCorePlayer a few times and tried the authentication procedure but I never get rid of this page. I have also added my username and password at the bottom of the page but that doesn't work either. Any ideas how I can fix this?

                        Can you check your server.log? Any 503s or 5xx in general in there related to Spotify? They seem to have a problem on their end which causes all kinds of odd behaviours.

                          Hi Michael,

                          thanks for coming back. Since I last rebooted most of the server.log is filled with this

                          Plugins::Spotty::AccountHelper::getCredentials (297) Failed to read credentials file, or credentials file was empty

                          the full log is attached.

                            Ouch... you should shut down LMS and delete the spotty sub-folder from LMS' cache folder. Then try again.

                            And make sure you have enough free disk space.

                              Ok done, that and rebooted the piCorePlayer. I now get these errors in the server.log
