Spotify API report played tracks
Hi.
I posted back in March of 2021 about how music played via Spotty gets back to Spotify (or doesn't) so the artist gets paid and the Spotify curated playlists reflect your listening. Michael, I believe, confirmed that this "report back" wasn't available in the Librespot development at that time.
My Spotify 2022 Unwrapped came out today and based on the number of songs played, it looks like some of my LMS Spotty listening is included but a lot is not.
19 months have past with lots of LMS development in that time. Is it still the case that Spotty listening doesn't get reported back to Spotify ?
ThanksNicholas

This is not a LMS or Spotty issue, but still in the underlying
librespot. There's no documented API to report playback. It must be
reverse engineered - and likely isn't top of the priority list...

I still buy music from those I want to support... in particular smaller
groups, which quite often can be found on eg. Bandcamp.com.

But I hope Spotty's underlying libraries get "fair streaming" support
(*) Qobuz API was "open" before - but has since closed the documentation and development for independent developers - so this might break...

Are you using your own Client ID?

where is the "Library Views" setting?
So sorry to have to ask what's probably been asked before, but searching this thread has got me most of the way there, but not all the way. Having the Qobuz and Spotify albums show in my music's "new music" page is fantastic, but I'm trying to remove the online str4eaming duplicates of local albums. I have found and enabled the server plugin setting to "show only local album" and saved settings under the OMLI plugin settings. I also read from searching that I need to accompany that with selecting the "Library View" in my client GUI that hides online duplicates (and I've even seen the screenshot of that switch) - but I can't seem to find that setting in the Material Skin nor the old default skin.
Where / how do I get to the Library View options in Material Skin? thanks!
EDIT: Also found a setting to hide lossy duplicates under "Additional Browse Modes" - but that wasn't it.
EDIT2 - I found "Library Views" under My Music in the classic skin, but it's not showing in Material Skin!
EDIT 3 GOT it!

In Material there would be a musical not button at the top of the My
Music menu. Default should have a "Library Views" section at the bottom
of the My Music menu.

Hi. I have just purchased a Spotify premium (family) account and wanted to use with my LMS on a raspberry Pi. The installation of spotty (4.8.4) along with the instructions to activate the device worked fine.
However, when I want to play a song from Spotify, I get "Dateityp kann nicht wiedergegeben werden für:" ("file type cannot be played for:"). Is there any library that I need to install in addition to the plugin?

Happy New Year.
I have an album in Spotty that I simply cannot get removed. It is Phoebe Bridger's "Punisher". Its tracks are duplicated, I'm trying to remove it, so I can re-add it with just one copy of the tracks.
The problem is, the variant of the album no longer exists in Spotify, so it's not possible to Unfavorite it. And I've cleared the LMS library a dozen times, including Online music. The album simply won't go away. I've re-favorited the album in Spotify, and it then shows as two albums in LMS. So I remove it, clear all in LMS, and one is removed but the one with the dups is not.
How does one forcibly (and reliably) remove an online album if no reference exists in Spotify? This is driving me nuts, and it seems to happen fairly frequently enough that I'm wondering if there's a way to add an option to to tell LMS - DELETE this album from your database!

Would the album show up if you drilled down the Spotty menu to Albums?
You could try to shut down LMS, move spotty.db out of the cache folder,
then try again. Don't delete it, as you'd want to move it back in place
if that didn't fix it.
If it did show up in aformentioned Albums menu, navigate to the level
before that, enable debug logging for plugin.spotty, drill down to the
Albums level. Then disable logging again and send me a copy of the
server.log.zip file.

I fear the problem lies in Spotify, that the album would still be listed
in your favorites, but with some flag to have it hidden. And I might be
missing that flag somehow.

That’s exactly where I go.
