If I set Spotty quality to 96kbps a lot more songs from Pink Flag become unplayable including songs over 1 minute 30 seconds. It seems to be related to the file size of the track. Under a certain file size is unplayable.

spotify:album:2gZ0RP2S45RZih0Wfr3GwN has several tracks of around 30 seconds that fail even with the hack.

Are you using Spotify connect or playing using Spotty within LMS? I find these tracks don't even play from Spotty. If you change quality to 96kbps tracks below around 1 minute 40 seconds don't play.

I'm using Spotify Connect. With my Boom selected as the player in the Connect Client (green highlight) then track 12 (1:28) plays but track 15 (0:25) causes the Booms spotty-hf task on my LMS server to die and the green highlight in the Connect Client to disappear.

When I edited the perl file I just commented out the bit rate line. This definitely improved things for short tracks.

I just tried the same tracks from Spotty in the LMS web client. Track 12 played Ok but track 15 did not (the progress indicator started moving for a second or so and then jumped back to zero).

Happy to try any other tests you suggest!

I think we are all seeing the same thing. If you try setting Spotty to 96kbps I think Track 12 will fail to play. Then we probably have to wait for Michael to come back from holiday to make sense of it [emoji3]

Just tried it - setting Spotty to 96kbps causes track 12 to fail so it's consistent...

I guess that's the same issue as Qobuz users were/are having on Daphile.
It's a Daphile bug. Please see with Kimmo whether the bugfix release is
ready. A few days ago he told me it should be ready, soon.

                      Spotty v4.3.0

                      Minor changes:
                      • Allow searching for track IDs.
                      • Optionally remove "clutter" ("Deluxe Edition", "Remastered"...) from album and track titles when importing to library.
                      • Try to improve playlist folder hierarchy parsing.

                          Hi Michael,

A quick update on the short tracks issue - I can now play all tracks on Wire's Pink Flag. I'm not sure if this is down to an update in the spotify app or to your recent update to spotty.

Unfortunately, spotty also seems to be crashing a bit more than usual and spotty stops for no apparent reason more often - when I get a bit of time, I'll dig into these further to see if I can identify a trigger for either issue (there hasn't been anything obviously repeatable yet).

                          Cheers,

                          Larry

Interesting: I doubt you're "Adam Nielson" on Github, but he posted a similar
report in librespot's issue on github less than 30 minutes ago. And I can play Pink Flag,
Billie Eilish's !!! and my special "short tracks" playlist again.

I'm working on getting the spotty helper up to date with librespot's
latest code. Hopefully this will bring us a bit more stability too.

Correct on the first - I'm @BuongiornoTexas, and I'll keep my fingers crossed on the second (sounds like promising news).

Interesting. I tried the Billy Eilish track a couple of days ago and it was still failing but now it works. I wonder if Spotify changed something as these short tracks only started to fail earlier this year presumably after a change on Spotify's side.
