Hmm... for whatever reason we seem not to be getting a track object
there, but the raw URL. I'm surprised this hasn't shown up before. I'll
    add a check.

Problem with Don't Stop The Music

I have been using DSTM for a while with no problems but it has recently stopped working. When the playlist finishes no new track is played. I think that this is the error from the server log:

[19-06-10 20:25:42.4021] Slim::Control::Request::notify (2060) Error: Failed notify: Can't locate object method "remote" via package "file:///E:/Users/Music/Dick%20Gaughan/Handful%20of%20Earth/Workers%27%20Song-Handful%20Of%20Earth.mp3" (perhaps you forgot to load "file:///E:/Users/Music/Dick%20Gaughan/Handful%20of%20Earth/Workers%27%20Song-Handful%20Of%20Earth.mp3"?) at C:/PROGRA~2/SQUEEZ~1/server/Slim/Plugin/RandomPlay/Plugin.pm line 351.

Running on a Windows 10 computer.

    Grateful for any assistance.

That line does not exist in the current code base. Please make sure you
      run the latest LMS.

I'm running 7.9.1. It says that there is no newer version available.

Maybe it is time to release a new "official community release"?
I remember seeing more answers like this lately when people report problems :-)
And as far as I remember there's some good stuff added in those nightlies since 7.9.1...

I've installed 7.9.2 & that seems to have fixed the problem but I'm still not sure what happened as DSTM was working for me with 7.9.1 up until a couple of weeks ago.
              Thanks for your help.

Still a Problem with Don't Stop The Music

Having installed 9.2 it worked but has now stopped again. The server log error gives a different line number:

[19-06-14 10:07:39.6430] Slim::Control::Request::notify (2060) Error: Failed notify: Can't locate object method "remote" via package "file:///E:/Users/Music/Joni%20Mitchell/Hejira/Song%20for%20Sharon-Hejira.mp3" (perhaps you forgot to load "file:///E:/Users/Music/Joni%20Mitchell/Hejira/Song%20for%20Sharon-Hejira.mp3"?) at C:/PROGRA~2/SQUEEZ~1/server/Slim/Plugin/RandomPlay/DontStopTheMusic.pm line 68.

'Song for Sharon' is the penultimate track on the album.

                Thanks for your assistance.

Problem Broadcasting of my favorite sender in the morning does not start (randomly):

Sorry to open this issue again! I have sometimes heavy problems with my squeezeboxes (the original classic ones were replaced by picore players). I run LMS on a dietpi with

                    * Logitech Media Server Version: 8.3.0 - 1667251155 @ Fri 04 Nov 2022 09:17:53 AM CET residing on a dietpi OS Raspberry Pi 4b (8GB)

The Picoreplayers are also updated a month ago. The problem I have persists over the years, and maybe exist even with the classic ones. I have connected 4 devices in my max configuration, each box could be easily and automatically started via wifi. They reside in 4 rooms. The less problems I got If i run allo of them together in sync. Ok sometimes the sync is not working (and I have an undissolved problem with bluetooth connection when my smartphone as a fifth device come eventually in), and sometimes the music lacks from one of the players, depending on the mood of the devices, the wireless lan or whatever.

I have pimped my system with a mesh network:
                    * Fritzbox 7490 (under the desktop) resides in working room (surrounded by some wood of the desktop)
                    * Fritzbox 7530 ( under the desktop) resides in work room. (surrounde by some wood of the desktop, but open to my flat resp. the door of the working room /also wood), normally open)
                    * Fritzbox Mesh Repeater 3000 next to the door of my working room (even though it shall have the best position for the flat, only very rarely it is connected by the picores, other devices do connect via this rep)

                    I have following config:
                    - living room: one pricore player on a raspberry pi 2 (connected to the hifi)
                    - bathroom: pciore player with Raspberry Pi 4b (8GB) and little analogue logitech Boxes
                    - kitchen: picore player with Raspberry Pi 3b and littler analogue logitech boxes
                    - bedroom: Picore player with Raspberry Pi 3b and old logitechn usb boxes
                    - working room: PC version of Squeezelite-X (plays during my office hours )

Because of saving power, I switched off most of the devices, but the bathroom is started in the morning by a wifi plug.
When I come to my office Squeezelite-X automatically turned on during startup.

The setup of the flat is like the following (I live in a house of 8 surrounded by two neighbour house, also 8 households each, we have 2.4 GHz mess sometimes):

                    Legend of flat:
                    - Window or door
                    = brick (thick)
                    * inner brick

                    flat layout
                    * the pi in the bathroom I forgot! It is placed opposite to the wall next to the bedroom pi!

                    So my problem:
When all devices are online, problems of lacks or not playing is seldom (and depends maybe on the fight of networks round my flat, it is only a guess, but there are lots of 2.4GHz networks around)
When only bathroom is restarting, all othe devices are off, the radio starts quiet, normally I do not get a my favourite sende rto play (Don't stop the music). This has been better in the past, when there was only one radio in the whole flat playing.
It should start playing with my broadcast....but this is most of the times not the case (it just starts one of four tries).

So I ask you and hopefully we can together detect where the error source lies here:
                    - wifi?
                    - synchronizing of 4 devices where only one is starting up?
                    - PC normally plays automatically when started up. Unless I have stopped the sender when I shut down the devices. (but shouldn't it start anyway, because of don't stop the music??)
                    - Software is updated regularly, this can be an issue, but I face these kind of problems for a long time, and they tend to get nasty...
                    - Software false configuration somehow?
                    - Software Update to xx...

I have normally no problems with my other devices (my three laptops, my tab, smartphone and Android TV Box).

Please every expert here, please let us brain storm, there must be an solution! Please help!

                    * 5 Ghz I cannot use properly because of often "Radar alarm", each day many alarms.

Have you tried taking Bathroom player completely out of sync group. Does it then start ok?

Do not think this is anything to do with Don’t Stop The Music

Thanks, I will try that out soon! So are there any known issues when syncing with offline devices. For me a "natural" configuration, because sometimes all of the devices are used, sometimes only a 3/4 and sometimes only two or one.

But that would make sense, when I have a party I use Spotty to supply music to all rooms. If many people are in my flat sometimes some device stopped playing music. The others are somehow affected with a delay too, and then there is a cycle of starting/stopping /restarting.
It would be nice if squeezeboxes could build stable clusters, where an outage/failure happen to one device. The working synced players should definitely not tale care of unstable candidates, unless they are stable again. Is the sync signal needed in every message?

Do you know how exactly the timing/sequence diagram of the don't stop the music looks like or the one of syncing? Is there any detailed design available?

Suggest you look at the Group Player plugin.
This will let you build groups of players for when needed eg “Bathroom & Kitchen”, “Bathroom, Kitchen & Living Room”, “All” etc

Yes there are issues with sync when a player doesn’t exist as far as LMS is concerned which is the case when completely powered off as opposed to standby

One of the major obstacles to WiFi is water. The human body contains a lot of water. A lot of humans means a lot of obstacles.
