    Hello cpd73,

I am new to this forum and this is my first post.

I use Dalphine and I am very excited about the material skin. I have been using it for some time now.

    Now for my first question:

With Daphile I have the option to load the music files into RAM. To my ears it sounds better then. Is there a possibility to do this with the material skin as well?
    I would wish it.
I would prefer it if this could be set by default.

    Many thanks for your answer.

    Many greetings Dieter

Sorry, but I do not use daphile. This 'ramdisk' feature has been asked for before, but this is something daphile themselves should implement as an LMS plugin - then it could be used by all controllers and skins
Material debug: 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json (Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here.

So I am not sure if this is a Material or LMS setting but is there a way to get music sorting where "Jim Crocce" is under J instead of C? Same with "Dave Matthews Band", it is under M. Is it possible to have the sorting just use the first letter, other than "The" I suppose.

I think this may reflect your files having an ArtistSort tag in the form Bloggs, Joe as well as Artist and Album Artist tags in the form Joe Bloggs.
LMS does offer the choice of ignoring "The", "La", etc

And note that if you have even a single track by these artists with an ARTISTSORT tag, *all* the tracks of that artist will use that sort information. Easiest way to find files with sort tags is to load up your files in mp3tag and create a column for ARTISTSORT, then sort on that column. You'll see if any sort tags exist.

Thanks. I will probably write a quick script to just transfer the album artist to the sort tags and format it how i want with that script.

Thanks for the tip. I have a couple of artists that show up sorted by last name in the artist list but never knew why. Sure enough, they have the ARTISTSORT tag set that way. Easy fix!

Unfortunately if one turns of "technical" info then Material drop composer and artist metadata also. Hopefully a bug and not a deliberate thing?
puddletag - now packaged in most Linux distributions.

                    Mine doesn't.

Are you using Material's "Large" "Font size" option? As must admit the font layout in the screenshot looks awful - large gap below "Max2Play", and "39%" is touching divider. Are you on Android? If so, if you use the APK then you can zoom the whole page - not just fonts/icons - and this looks much better. I hate the fact that you cannot set zoom in mobile browsers

I just tried increasing the zoom in the APK and the player icon disappeared.

That is to be expected. The viewport area is now smaller - that's how this zoom works. Hence it zooms all parts, not just font/icons.

I'm running the Android APK with zoom level set to the mid-point and using the "Regular" font size option. This combination seemed to yield the best results for me after experimenting with the settings back when I first installed MS a year or so ago. Maybe I'll play around with it some more now, although it looks fine to my eyes. If it makes any difference, I am "stuck" on Android 7 until I upgrade my phone
EDIT: Also, I have the Android "Font size" set to "Largest" if that matters.
