I guess I could make ctrl+select the same as shift+select? This would be different to how (e.g.) windows handles select, but then Material is already different (by not needing ctrl+select to select an item if another is selected).
Its not an issue, and now that I know how it works, I think it's great. I had not used select allot to date. I was just playing with the podcast order thing. I generally play albums, internet stations, podcasts, one at a time. I was just reporting something in noticed in case it's undesirable behavior (the b word). I ran across it because I initiated a select (item1), then trying to select mistakenly did a control select (item 10), then realized a wanted a range, unselected (10), then shift select (10) and it didn't select all (1-10), so I thought "didn't work".

I now know that the range select that didn't "work" (per your message and my test) is from the previous (10) to the next (10), and that's what I saw.

I now realize your technique is very flexible and actually ideal. If I do the above again, I can simply do a shift select of (2) after, and the range is selected. your technique makes it easy for me to say select 1-10,17,30-50,16,20, etc.

Thanks for making me think about it, I learned something today!
    Jim

    • I have two library views on a new server at the moment. Default and Library without duplicated online tracks. I can see both libraries in the default skin under Library Views but I don't see them in Material Skin. The selection icon is missing. I must be doing something daft but I can't think of anything.

Well now the symbol has appeared but I am not sure if it appeared after I added another library view or after clearing the cache in the application. It survived me deleting the added library view.

The issue is that LMS, AFAIK, does not provide a notification when a new library is created, or when one is removed. Now I need to update Material so that it auto-refreshes its library list when a library is added with Material, or when one is removed. However, if you create a library with another UI then you would need to refresh Material for it to notice. Not sure if there is any better way. Most UIs don't have this issue as you need to go into a menu to see this library list.

            • I set the volume as fixed 100%. Where is the setting in material skin to change this so I can control the volume?

                    • LOL. A picture is worth a thousand words. I also see that's where the polarity switch is that I've been looking for. I have a balance/imaging issue in my system and both of these settings will be helpful in getting it sorted out. Thanks.

                      • I've a new, for me, and odd problem.
I've reinstalled Windows (i'm so stupid to use clean command on diskpart) and all programs, LMS included.
Mounths ago i've installed Material Skins (and other 3th party plug-ins) but i found them unabled after W10 (and LMS) intallation.
Ok, np, 2 minutes and i enabled all of them (and a few more plug-ins, some kind of radio, i like radio such as Radio Paradise)
But... material skins seems not working, on web version (btw i've installed LMS via F-Droid on my Huawei Tablet and it's really amazing), it's only the classic one
I've done everithing: closed and reopened tabs, closed and laung again FireFox, PC reboot... nothing, always the old and classic (and crap) skin.
Thanks in advance for any tips

Yeah, right, my fault (classic /panic mode after a windows reinstall, with a wipe of the disk)

                              • Craig, can I suggest a couple of changes for a future release of Material:

The "remove album" option in the queue context is useful but if it was "select album" it would give the ability to move it, delete it, or other action.

Could the search button in the browse panel be persistent when pages other than the home page are showing. I use search frequently but lose my place in the menu tree when I have to go back.

                                Thanks for your work.
