[Announce] Squeezelite-X

I sometimes experience the strange behavior that Squeezelite-X will not find piCorePlayer, so it takes a long time to start up and then ends up with the built-in Squeezelite-X player, but here's the strange part, if I load IP:9000 in a browser, and get the old LMS user interface, it can find piCorePlayer just fine and I can start my music.

Hi Greg, Oops ... seems to have kicked out my Antipodes server/player EX but managed to restart that while SLX still plays but now with more serious issue ... GUI blacked out while the hourly clock still shows which I guess is the same 14 sec refresh but failed also ... please see belowwindow log. However, while I certainly do not understand all these, Squeezer app on my android phones continues to show both EX and SLX without black out on the latter where I can see both EX and SLX and control with this Squeezer app i.e. functionality continues to be 100% after 23 minutes but user experience not so great. Hope this help further to resolve this to be back to previous and do let me be your guinea pig for any needed testing or reporting while again, I do not understand all these and only a grateful SLX user. What version are you running?

For log files, I need you enable debug info (Settings | Advanced/Debug | Log Level = Debug, Enable). And restart SLX. You can save that to a file from the LogWindow and email to me at [email protected]. I need all of it.

What version are you running?

Hi Greg, Just sent you the needed file to your email as instructed and hope correctly done ... many thanks in advance. BTW, black out did not reappeared while I noted that Squeezer App via Android phone no longer show both SLX and Antipodes EX players when I select Antipode Server shown in Squeezer App or manually enter 192.168.1.107 and I need to connect to Server via difference IP addresses of 192.168.1.107 and 192.168.1.74 respectively to control the players unlike previously.

Meanwhile music continues to flow with .54 and no more reported blackout but 14 secs refresh of the GUI 🥳🥳

Hi Greg, I am also sending you the log for mentioned issue of either SLX aborted or something about port issue that existed from day 1 months ago when using the ASIO driver that comes with my external usb iBasso dac. I need to restart computer and try a few times before all go well.

One laptop is Windows 10 (22H2) x64 and the other is Windows 11 (the original, not 22H2) x64 and both behave the same: I have to choose "Keep" to access the downloaded file but I then ALSO have to right click the EXE, choose "Properties", click "Unblock" and press OK. .

Thanks !! This did the trick as I am not aware of this unblock functionality and I am good now with installation of the setup files from Greg.

However, I have no luck with .52 as it starts ok but gets aborted after 10-11 seconds and will revert again back to .54 since it still continues to play while refreshing and somehow not showing both my Antipodes EX on my main hifi system in the living room and Squeezelite player on my PC in bedroom.

Unfortunately, I have no clue which version works ok previously and staying with .54 while I do have the reported issue to Greg on needing to reboot the PC when using the ASIO driver of the external iBasso usb dac that exists in ALL version so far.

Glad that works. The unblock feature isn't obvious.

I'd recommend trying some version from before you had the problem (e.g. perhaps .46) because that might help Greg determine if your recent problems are caused by something he's changed in .52, .53 etc or if something else has broken at the same time (e.g a problem with your LMS or something).

I'm currently using .52 and not experiencing any problems (yet).

Hi Greg, pls ignore above as I may have been confused with all these ip address or it is changing .. manually selecting 192.168.1.74 in Squeezer app as well as web based Antipodes control app now shows both SLX and Antipodes EX players .. with apology.

LMS comes installed with Antipodes CX server and EX player and perhaps modified or not same version as yours or Greg's but it is not something that I or Greg can control.

As mentioned, I still have the issue of SLX aborting with iBasso usb external dac's Asio driver very often during start or when reapply but I need Asio driver which for dsd playback and it sounds so much better... retrying can be quite confusing to me and tedious.

Will do so if Greg request after his review of the provided log files but I still can heard music flowing from my bedroom while now sitting in my living room and will stay with .54 .. refreshing does not bother me too much as it does not do so in Squeezer app or Antipodes Control app 🙏🙏

If with android phone, one can temporarily use free Squeezer program to avoid the refreshing GUI in current SLX app if he wishes.

A small detail, but in the Windows Store library Squeezelite-X always shows as "modified moments ago," regardless of when it was updated. Version 2.11.53 (March 14, 2023), in Windows 11.

Hi, thank you for this app.
I'm running Win11 with 22h2 , 22621.1413.
FYI, the app "refreshes" here too and drops the sound for 1-2 secondes.
Let me know if I need to run tests or send some log.

reverted to 2.11.49.0 which seem to have solved the UI refresh
