    There definately is but I'm not sure if it requires the Music and Artist Information plugin for it to appear

      Could be, I didn't think of that.

        Click on the 3 dots on the top right that opens up Material Skin options. Under Interface, there is a toggle for artwork.

          Just checked and you do need the Music and Information plugin to see Local Artwork in the context menu.

            slartibartfast, thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't appear to address what I'm looking for. I didn't see a 'Music and Information' plugin in the third party plugins, but found 'Music Information Screen' and 'Music and Artist Information' plugins. I've added each separately (and later both), completely restarting LMS and SLX after each change. I'm still not seeing a 'Show Artwork' option under the context menu, more.

            The 'Music and Artist Information' plugin seems to add a lot of new info (artist artwork, lyrics), but I already have album artwork embedded in my files, and don't use artist artwork (which like most internet-based metadata is rubbish).

            Have I missed something? Either way, thanks again for the help and suggestions.

              In Material go to Settings > Interface > Enable "Show Artwork".

              The "Music Information Screen" plugin is solely for the older Squeezebox hardware with a VDU screen (Transporter, SB1, SB2, Classic, Boom, etc.) Bottom picture.

                Okay, I've removed 'Music Information Screen', as it's apparently not needed for this purpose. I have 'Music and Artist Information' turned on - not sure why, though, as the purpose here seems to grab a variety of artwork and metadata from the internet. I don't need that, as I already have artwork embedded for all albums within the individual files.

                Also, I've had 'Show Artwork' enabled from the get-go. The 'Show Artwork' option is still not showing up in the SLX Context menu, nor under 'More'.

                To be clear, this is only an issue with SLX, not LMS. I use other clients (admittedly, Android) with a 'Show Artwork' option, and that works as expected - just not there in SLX.

                Thanks -

                  It is definitely there in Material skin. No idea about Squeezelite X as I can very rarely get it to run without access violations.Click image for larger version

                    But where does that menu item "Local artwork" link to? I don't see that menu item in SL-X or the Material .apk on my phone. I do have MAI installed, but all my music files have embedded artwork, I don't have any folder/album.jpegs anywhere.

                    I haven't entered an Artwork folder in MAI. Is that needed to see Local artwork?

                      Presumably it's the cover art in the album folder. I think all my albums have a folder.jpg. I suppose this wouldn't work for streaming services either.

                        Do you experience the no cover art issue using Material Skin using a browser? Is the Material Skin plugin up to date?

                          I want to be REALLY clear here, that cover art works just fine in SLX in most contexts. The cover art of all albums appears when I'm browsing, by artist, by album, whatever. When I'm playing a track, I can click the small art in the playback bar, and it enlarges to a much larger size. What I want to be able to do is expand that artwork on tracks that are NOT the currently playing track.

                          My files are all .m4a (ALAC) files, with artwork embedded in the file. There are NO folder.jpg files, nor any 'artwork' folders.

                          This works fine in the LMS client and in OrangeSqueze (Android). The feature doesn't appear to be there in SLX.

                          LMS, SLX and Material Skin are all kept relentlessly up to date. I worked for over 35 years in IT before retiring a couple of years ago, and I'm really OCD about keeping everything up to date!

                            Currently the only way to do that would be to use the "(...)" more menu of a track, and drill down to local artwork. This should then show the artwork which can be clicked on to enlarge. I guess ideally what you'd like is to click on the context-menu for an album and show its cover? If so, you can achieve that be creating a file named "material-skin/actions.json" within your LMS's "prefs" folder - with the following:

                            Code:
                            {
                              "album":[
                                {
                                  "title":"Show cover",
                                  "script":"bus.$emit('dlg.open', 'gallery', ['$IMAGE'], 0, true);",
                                  "icon":"photo"
                                }
                              ]
                            }

                              He did say that wasn't working though, "local artwork" wasn't appearing under "more".

                                Well exactly! Same for me.

                                How do you get the "Local artwork" menu item to appear under "More"?

                                That's the question.
