  • Can't Remove Smart Mix

I had Smart Mix installed and know that it is no longer working, but on the main LMS page I'm getting the message "Plugin updates are available (Smart Mix)", although when I go to the plugins page it isn't listed as an Active plugin. It is listed as an Inactive plugin, but won't install if I try to make it active. Is there a simple way of cleaning this up?

    Hi,
    which OS?

afaik the latest smartmix update is a delete process - imho Michael did use that type of force remove the first time.

smartmix is dead so he must find a way to disable all the downloaded versions.

It's linux on a QNAP that runs LMS courtesy of SSOTS. I'm happy to do a manual uninstall using WinSCP from my Windows PC if someone could tell me where all the references to Smart Mix are located. Thanks.

No, I didn't do this yet. It's still on my todo list...

            go with your browser to

take a look @ something like Folder for extras:
in my case the 2.ns row shows /var/lib/squeezeboxserver//var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins,

you need to search the part with cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins

open putty or whatever you use and cd to that Folder.
            eg cd /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins

            now delete the Plugin Folder
rm -r SmartMix (take a look how its spelled) linux is case sensitive and i didnt have smartmix anymore.

Now go back (leave the linux open) to the browser and take a look at the line above

            Something like Folder for settings
You need to copy the row behind that
            in my case its /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs

go back to your linux and cd to that folder - attach plugin behind the line.
            eg cd /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin

there might be some file named SmartMix.prefs

            delete it
            stop lms and restart it.

            now it should be gone.

That's really helpful - many thanks. I managed to find and delete both the SmartMix plugin folder and the SmartMix.prefs file. The folder structure in linux is impossible, so it was really useful having the locations specified in the LMS Information tab of the Settings screen.

btw: The Filestructure from Linux is pretty simple and it follows simple (but many) rules. I found it simpler (ok i am using only one distro) than Windows where things are stored here and there or in the registry.

I released an "update" which wouldn't do anything but uninstall itself.
If you had automatic updates enabled this should have done the trick.

Dang! I was excited for a moment when I saw a restart was required due to SmartMix plugin update... thought there may have been a reincarnation! Wishful thinking!

Michael, thanks for everything you did with SmartMix for us, the ride was fantastic. Am missing it hugely.
