I am confused - where are you looking when you see your own custom clocks? Also, I don't think that Custom Clock uses mysqueezebox, that appears to be another issue.
I don't have License Manager loaded and my Custom Clock works.

On the Player, what are your options under Settings>Screen>Screensavers. ?
and Settings>Advanced>Applet Installer ?

Do have the SuperDateTime Plug-In? I'm not sure, you might need it for some Custom Clocks

• the only place I see my own custom screens are within the "custom clock helper" advanced settings on LMS Settings (via web) - I can't see these screens on the player at all.
Now... the earlier versions of custom clock applet required license manager, which in turn required access to mysqueezebox... so I wasn't quite sure if I needed mysqueezebox to be available or not.

Nevertheless, I've made the exercise of installing a second LMS server onto which I managed to correctly connect to mysqueezebox, and when I connect the player to the new one, the behaviour is exactly the same.
The only difference I can see between last it worked and the new setup, is LMS 8.3 instead of LMS 7.9

I do have superDateTime - I even see it in Extras on the player.

I wonder what I am missing in the setup.

it doesn't get there.

Also, when I install custom clock, save to SD card, reboot; I'd expect the applet installer to state "installed" but I always see "reinstall" instead. Other applets gets to "installed" - does that mean my custom clock isn't properly installed ?

Seems that it ain’t.
Did you follow the instructions to install CC in the very first post in this thread? It seems that you need the version of tcutting.

Edit:
The repository address is found in post #13.

Did you try to reinstall?

• I have the same issue. It always says
CustomClock (Reinstall)

Once reinstalled, I save the settings and then reboot.

After reboot still shows
CustomClock(Reinstall)

Also, it is unclear from this thread, do I need to install manually? Or use the builtin plugin installer?

I forget, how did you install it again? Manually?
The piCore authors would know better than me, but I think that as of a certain version of LMS a few plug-ins (3rd party) had to be installed manually if they weren't previously installed on an older LMS version.
But I am a bit foggy about it.

• Thanks to all for the info.

Was able to get working by manually copying over the correct version of the applet needed for the piCoreplayer

Did you add the repository mentioned in post #13 ?

I thought I had, but it is possible I did not add it correctly.

Like I added it and did not see any change in the plugins available.

I did. tried with and without. no change.
behaviour exactly the same as what bengaldave has

• Yes, there seems to be a problem. I think bengaldave posted somewhere else the reason and his workaround. Have a look at other threads, where he wrote. There are many.

• Hi, I have a strange problem unlike others in this thread. I've managed to install (both manually and via the repo) the custom clock applet and the custom clock helper plugin and everything works fine on Squeezebox Radios and Touch's but in my PiCore Player with a Pi4 and 7" Touchscreen, the applet shows installed and I can select it within the screen settings but when I try to click on the Custom Clock applet set up menu, it does nothing. I've tried removing all the applets, reinstall everything and I've tried it on a Mac Mini running LMS as well as the PCP Pi4 and it's always the same. I'm wondering if there is a corrupt settings file somewhere on the Pi4 Jive/Squeezelite app. I've not tried a clean install of the PCP player from scratch - before I do that, has anyone else experienced this? What is the latest version number for the Custom Clock applet - I'm wondering if the player is installing the incorrect version. Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm running LMS 8.3.0 on PiCore v8.2.0 on a Pi4 and also LMS 8.3.1 on Mac OS X Monterey and the Jive Player has the same issue with both servers - namely, the Custom Clock setup to set the clock does nothing when clicked. I verified that the PCP has the plugin download from Sourceforge in ~/.jivelte/userpath/applets and this matches the version from the repo when installed via the LMS on the Mac.

SOLVED: I figured out that the CUSTOMCLOCK.LUA preference file was missing and copying that over from another working Touch and changing the permissions to match the other files in the directory solved the problem.

I have another problem now that is affecting ScreenSwitcher on Squeezebox Touches AND JiveLite - the applet works but one cannot change the start and end times for each screen. The same applet works on Squeezebox Radios so it must be a big in the code for the Touch and JiveLite. Didn't have the time to take a look yet, but if someone has a solution or quick workaround, please let me know. Thx.

• I ran into that problem as well: I could endlessly (re)install the Custom Clock Applet. But it didn't work. No chance to configure any of the 9 Custom Clock Settings. It didn't make a difference, if I added the repository or not.

After lots of tries and reading through this thread, I found a working solution:

You have to login to the Player via ssh/puTTY first (user: tc, pass: piCore) and change ownership for all directories under /home/tc/.jivelite like this

ssh tc@<ip or name of your picoreplayer>

sudo chown -R tc:staff .jivelite

the Custom Clock Applet from \#13 has to be manually copied (aka installed ;-)) to the directory

.jivelite/userpath/applets/

This can be done by WinSCP or

scp -r CustomClock tc@pi:.jivelite/userpath/applets/

(copy the whole directory, so that it results in /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets/CustomClock)

After that restart Jivelite and you should be able to select Screensavers for CustomClock#1 to 9
