    Thanks Philippe_44

The new release seems to be working OK so far, at lest as far as detection and autostart goes. I haven't done much testing yet, but will use it during the next couple of days and see how it holds up. I'm currently fooling around with the rescan times, to perhaps shorten the time from power on to start playing. My current setting is 15/5 and I'll see how that goes.

You're still using Upnp for detection, right?

Yes, but just for detection. I've changed a bit the periodic rescan in a sense that I now maintain permanently the SSL connection with the device (and it is automatically re-established if it is lost). As long at the SSL connection is valid, the device will not be removed from the player list even if it misses upnp reconnect. It will be removed if SSL connection is lost AND the upnp failed scan counter is reached. BTW, why do you want to shorten the scan and do it more often ?

On a different note, the LMS feature to pause at power off and resume where it stopped at power on (and stay paused) does not work (on purpose) with this bridge

Hmm... I shortened the period of time because it took so long (about 90 seconds) from Power on (CCA) till the music started playing. Sadly this did not help at all.

It actually got worse, and I do not know why. LMS saves the Playlist (webradio station) correctly, but when I power thr CCA back up it seems to play (time progresses) but no audio is heard. I then hit back and/or pause and play, then it usually works.
I'll experiment a bit more, then see if I can capture some logs.

I'll investigate the no audio but the time from boot to visible in LMS does not surprise me. My CCA takes a good 30 seconds to boot, then it needs to acquire an IP address from the router and to finish probably a few things before it is ready to answer to discovery request, so it can easily be a minute. With 15,5 as discovery parameters, you limit the allowed time to answer to a discovery request to 5 sec and this is very short. So yes, if everything works nice, a discovery can happen after 5 seconds and a search is made every 15, so 20 seconds could be your worse delay, but, in fact the result can be pretty bad and due to a short allowed response time, you might miss several times the player and the time to actually discover it might then be very long or you might even have no discovery at all

            Yes, that's sort of what I figured...😉
Although my CCA actually boots and connects to WiFi quite quickly most of the time.

              Update 0.1.1.0-dev-2

Pushed this update today as it finally fixes the availability of images in metadata (useful for video Chromecast devices) and allow other control application to see what is being played. I strongly recommend to do the update because the corrected bug could cause any playback to fail when the metadata size is above a certain value (long title, artist name ...)

                Thanks again Philippe_44

Sadly I still have the same issue as before. I've tried to analyze a bit more, but since this is a more or less random affair it's a bit hard to diagnose.
The log seems rather unconclusive, at least to my eyes. What I did notice was, that the webradio channel that restarted (when I powered on the CCA) ran for exactly 20 seconds (without any sound output), then the time went back to 0 and ran another 20 sec, and every time it reset to 0 it displayed a different line of text (Metadata) in the LMS Webinterface. Sot sure whether it's the same for all webradio channels, or whether this one is somehow different (MDR Klassik). I'll try to disable Metadata completely now and see how that works out.

Please don't go out of your way to fix this for me though, since it's probably a pretty isolated problem and not really life-threatening. I'm likely not going to be using LMS for much longer anyway, since I'm feeling quite at home just using Chromecast by now, and really only miss the "autostart on power on" feature from LMS/PiCorePlayer.

Understood - I aim to release a 'stable' version today so if you can post the log I'll have a look before to see if there is anything I can figure out easily

Sadly I can't provide any logs just now. Turning off all the metadata settings seems to have done the trick for me, at least as far as I can say after so few attempts.
My guesd is, that certain webradio stations handle metadata a bit differently, and that messes up the autostart. But that's just a hunch. That particular station already caused problems on older Plugin versions, while others started fine.
More testing from a wider group would probably help, for now I'd just ignore it if I were you. Everything else seems stable enough.

                      0.1.1.0 is out

I've update the 1st post of this thread. A version is now available in my 'stable' (sort of) plugins repository

v0.1.1.0-dev-2 is working great on my Winows 10 PC.

I'm not seeing anything under your dev repository (http://sourceforge.net/projects/lms-...ev/repo-sf.xml) on either my Windows 10 laptop, or my Raspberry PI/max2play LMS. (see picture)

I tried the "Stable" release but it was terrible, just playing one track, skipping back to start many times, no audio after playing one track.

                        Many thanks

When I use the link from the 1st post for the stable version, I get "Phillippe's LMS Plugins" with "Pluzz" and "Youtube" options, but no "Cast to LMS" Dev 2 plugin. The "Dev" link shows a "Phillipe's Squeezecenter Plugins" header, but no entries.

That's strange, I just tried the link and got the plugin listed under the name "Chromecast bridge". Also, Michael has updated the "official" 3rd party repository list so you might not even have to add a repository now

Hi - This extra weird: the stable version is nothing but the dev-2 recompiled with a few minor tweaks and it works fine on my machines. Can you have a look at the log, maybe post it here and confirm this is 0.1.1.0 that runs ?

[edit]: maybe this is the cause: I forgot to tell that, due to a parameter 'simplification', you should erase the configuration file and create a new one

I've added the "stable" repository, and loaded 0.1.1.0.

CCA is found and is in player list (dropdown).

I select CCA, and load an album of 10 tracks, the first track plays to end, but the progress bar (webgui) gets to the end before track finishes, and goes to next track, when the first track audio finishes I get no more audio, it doesn't advance to the next track, but the progress bar advances to xxx seconds then resets to 0:00 and advances to xxx seconds etc.. This is repeatable.

                                Log attached.
