Nope. I run Debian based SBCs (Inovato Quadra) and have had the problem. Installed the new plugin version, restored the discovery timeout set per previous comments, and I no longer have disappearing ChromeCasts.

I'll just consider myself lucky then 😀

No, it depends on your network configuration and some devices that echo mDNS status

Mine too. I'll need awhile longer to make sure though. It's been two days now and it usually happens for me every 4 to 7 days.

I never ran into the problem while running LMS and the bridge on a RPi for 5 years. It only started happening after I moved it to a Win10 platform.

What players do you have. I only have a Google Nest mini and a Chromecast (Second generation). They have never disappeared from my Pi.

I have a stereo pair of Nest Minis and two Chromecasts. As I said, the problem never occurred when I was running LMS on a Pi. It happens every few days on my Windows 10 box but hopefully it's fixed now. Time will tell.

Well, my CC's disappeared from LMS again overnight and I had to reboot Windows, as usual, to get them back. Also as usual, I discovered the problem when the alarm on my Nest Mini failed to go off this morning. I had been running with the latest version of the plugin for five days, which is right around the average time between occurrences for me, so the fix didn't seem to change things. Let me know if I can be of help in resolving this problem, which seems to only occur on Windows platforms. Thanks.

If you don't reboot but just restart the plugin (there is a button in the plugin's setting for this) does it discover them again?

From past experience, restarting the plugin, LMS, or even both of them does nothing. The only thing that works is a reboot. Having said that, I did not attempt any of those methods today because of past experience. I will gladly try it the next time, though, if you think it might work with the recent changes.

Yes, because is the only solution is to reboot Windows, then the problem is with Windows itself, not with LMS or the plugin.

Okay. Will do. I'm also going to try to keep a log of exactly how often it happens. Maybe there's a clue of some kind there. This time it was approximately 5 days.

                          • As another point of reference, I have not lost any of my ChromeCasts lately. I last restarted LMS on May 8. LMS version 8.3.0 and Chromecast Bridge version 2.2.4. Running on Debian SBC (not Windows).

                            • I'm finding 2.2.3 and 2.2.4 to be worse than previous versions. I have 5 or sometimes 6 chromecast devices, and in previous versions of the plugin I might have to restart the bridge every couple of weeks due to chromecast that had gone missing and wouldn't come back. With both 2.2.3 and 2.2.4 within 48 hours all my chromecasts are gone. I'm running LMS in a docker container on a Synology NAS. I've been running like this for at least 2 years and nothing in my network or docker setup has changed.

Ok, I would need some logs then because on my side (linux-aarch64) they use to disappear and they stay now.
