Good to know you are getting 24/192
On Wiim's website they advise to use test tones - the best I can get is 16/192 or 24/96 for SPDIF Output resolution on the app but in practice its capped at 96 as seen by the log. The options offer 192/24 bits at best on my app. Maybe I can get an improvement as the system in theory is capable of 192. There is a line in the manual that to obtain best performance of high resolution music you should disable the network. It doesnt give an example, so I will have to try it and see.

I'm surprised you don't hear the Wiim test tone at 24/192 on the Marantz optical - as you quote from the manual, it should be fine with that. Might you need a software update on either the Marantz or WiiM?

Here are my plug-in settings - any different to yours?

I use a thin client with Ubuntu as server, and upnpbridge didn’t work until I added the binary for Linux-static.

Both are on latest firmware. Both are recognised as upnp players, but the Marantz AV gets “Signal Lock “ as no signal is received at the hardware level Optical 2 on Marantz.

Your screen shot shows Common Parameters not the WiiM explicitly. Further up you posted the bridge xml derived from the page which said 96000. Check again.

So that did not not do the trick. Did you end up doing some strings editing in squeezelite - I can't seem to find that in the Windows environment but that's probably me?
Apologies for the late answer, but no I did not adjust any strings.

Thanks, I didn’t realise how to change specific players.

Yes I changed the common parameter from 92000 to 192000, then uploaded the last screenshot. Since then I found two devices on the drop down common parameter field and deleted the Marantz as I factory reset it, and have not yet tested it.

The Wiim player is working, but the log doesn’t look good.

Now the wiim is playing 192/16 which is not bit perfect of 192/24 file but sounds good.
(Edit - changed the wiim audio optical 192/24 as it now plays test tone. Now I need to fix the dsdplayer which is eluding me )
I tried to get Marantz working with the config for NR1603 and LMS player started, but it failed to play on the amplifier.

I changed the source and navigated on the music server input within the pm7000n to the LMS server. I could not get it to play despite the Heos app recognising and “playing” the file.

It took several tries with different inputs and music files to get it to play. I wonder if the configuration affected it. Anyway for my peace of mind I will leave it and have deleted that upnp profile for Marantz.

                • Update - it seems to be sorted since updating to current LMS 8.3.2
I have noticed that the best setting for common parameters is transcode no, and the dsdplayer turned off. When it is on, no music plays through the amplifier (though the LMS is playing the DSF file.) I tested this on 8.2.1 and it holds for 8.3.2 also.

My test was - stop upnpdlnabridge; change the common parameter transcode from no to blank, change the dsdplayer from off to on. Result no music plays from speakers though LMS is playing. Return to the previous settings - DSD 2282 khz plays PCM 176.4 khz.

                  ======
The performance of the Marantz (I mean the wiim player) is spotty, since it has failed to play several music files 96 and above, but when I choose a 44.1 file it plays.
Can someone have a look at the log please?

                  • I am really at the beginnings with these kind of projects. I have many FLAC files 96.000 & 192 which are not played by my SONOS devices.
I read the docs about this plugin and set it in the following mode:

Are these option correct for playing those files in the SONOS devices? I now can listen the music from those, but if there are some options to modify to render the songs better, any advice is welcome.
Sorry for my english but i hope you all understand what i tried to say.

You don't need to always transcode. The fact is that SONOS devices (at least older ones), AFAIK can only do 48kHz/16bits. So you can leave passthrough if you want but just set max sample rate for each Sonos player individuall to 48K and the LMS server will do the transcoding. It should work unless your files are 24bits in which case I don't remember if LMS keeps bit depth or changes it during transcoding. I did some changes there as well but I can't remember on top of my head.

Ok, but now, after the changing i made, how to come back and leave passthrough? I don't see an option about passthrough.
Sorry if the question is stupid...

                        • There is an upgrade to the firmware for my renderer/DAC (Gustard R26). The description of the renderer change is found below. What would this mean in the LMS context if I upgrade the firmware?

An interesting fact is the change of the linux operating system to the "bookworm" version. This release started as a copy of "bullseye", and is currently in a state called testing. But the most important change is with the UPnP Media Renderer. Instead of upmpdcli based on MPD it is now GMediaRender and basically gmrender-resurrect (unless I'm wrong). No wonder, but GMediaRender is a project from 2007 "resurrected" in August 2022 on GitHub. It currently has 3 releases. All I know about this project is that it is a "resource efficient UPnP/DLNA renderer, optimal for Raspberry Pi, CuBox or a general MediaServer. Fork of GMediaRenderer to add some features to make it usable.”

Just set « thru » in transcode or leave it empty

                            • Sorry to ask but I cold not find proper answers. I am trying to integrate my oppo 203 in Lms. I can get it to play gapless but just in 16 44, high res files get downconverted. Furthermore I cannot get the music paused. Does anybody have a working config file? Thx a lot!

Check "advanced" box in the settings where you set transcode to PCM and have selected "flow" mode. It will let you chose the sample rate and size you want. Understand that in flow mode, everything has to be fixed. Pause probably does not work because in flow mode, LMS looks like a web radio station to the player. Such "live" stream usually cannot be paused by UPnP devices, they just ignore the requests. Some do, some don't... it's UPnP
