DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2 and PERL 5.24.0-0071 is the standard and latest installation. Also I haven't heard any other x86_64 NAS user having similar issues.

What other packages have you installed on the NAS?

    Greetings,

    Martin
I am running successfully Synology DiskStations with LMS.

On my Synology DiskStation DS1511+ the Logitech Media Server updates were discontinued by Synology for a while but are back since DSM 6.1.4-15217, which includes an updated Logitech Media Server stable version.

My Synology DiskStation DS416 with DSM 6.2-23739 includes Logitech Media Server package version 7.9.1-168:
    Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 – 1504317335 @ Mon Sep 4 22:13:00 UTC 2017
    Perl Version: 5.24.0 – arm-linux
    Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)

    Hello all,

LmsUpdate is a 1 on 1 copy of the Synology beta LMS package with additional updates from Slimdevices.
You can either install this as an update over your existing Synology LMS installation, or as a fresh install. Only DSM5/6 and DSM4 (some arch's) are supported.
Make sure that no SSODS or LmsRepack instances are running/active. If so remove these first and reboot your nas before continuing.

Port 9002 is used (same as Synology package).
    - LmsUpdate = 7.9.0 = offical slimdevices community release status = no longer receiving updates. This includes all architectures. LmsUpdate will only see new light when Synology decides to update their current Beta package to the 7.9.1 branch! -

    Greetings,

    Martin

    -----------Download location-----------
    • DSM6* - http: //server.pinkdot.nl/dsm6/

    -----------Current version-----------
    • DSM6* - 7.9.0.164.1150

    ----------- Installation-----------
First: deinstall any other instances running.
    • Deinstall all running SSODS or stop LmsRepack instances.
    • Reboot the nas.

Second install the Synology Logitech Media Server 7.9.0 beta package (if you haven't already installed it)
    • In Package Center: go to ->settings -> activate the beta channel.
    • Refresh the package list and install the Logitech Media Server 7.9.0 beta.
    • Open the webui (port 9002) and configure LMS.

    Then, install LmsUpdate.
    • Download the correct LmsUpdate package to your computer. (Make sure the file extension is .spk! Some browsers change the file extension during download for no reason.)
    • In Package Center: go to ->settings -> set trust level to 'all pubishers'.
    • In Package Center: go to -> manual Install, and install your downloaded package.
    • Report any issues.
    • Enjoy your music.

----------- Additional Repo for DSDplayer plugin (intel nas only, on DSM5 or DSM6) -----------
    • http: //server.pinkdot.nl/dsdplayer/repo.xml
    • Add the repo to the 'Additional Repositories' on the plugin tab of the webui. Apply, and restart LMS.

    ----------- Additional LmsUpdate skin -----------[LIST][*]https: //github.com/grofweg/Lmsupdate-webui

    ----------- Lame -----------
Lame is only needed for downsampling a mp3-stream. It is not needed for MP3 playback!
Lame is included in the DSM5 packages of the following architectures:
    • Avoton, Bromolow, Braswell, Cederview, X86
    • Armade370, Armada375
    • Evansport
    • From version 062.0008 -> 88f6281, ppc854x, Armadaxp

    ----------- Disclaimer -----------
The usual ;-) Use at your own risk, I won't be responsible for any damages caused to your Synology Nas or to yourself. In most cases if something breaks, removing LmsUpdate from your Nas should fix it.
    Hi,

I'm new to this forum but i've been reading carefully the thread to finally be able to install LMS server on my Synology DS1513+

I must admit that it's been 2 days now and ... i'm not on the winning edge right now.

For now, I tried (while rebooting the Nas at each try) :
    • - Synology Packet (7.7.6-116)
      - Synology Beta Packet (7.9.1-168)
      - PinkDot's LogitechMediaServer-x86_64-7.9.2-168.0011.spk

The result is always the same, the package installs fine but it won't launch.

If that can help, i am running:
    • DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2
      PERL 5.24.0-0071

    Thanks anyone for your contribution.

    Best Regards,
    Awn

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, and i've been looking almost everywhg DSM ere to find some answers about my problem.

    I got a DS1513+ running DSM 6.2 23739 update 2
I've been tryin' to install LMS for the best part of 2 days now, and i'm still windering what goes wrong...

I tried the Synology packet(7.7.6-166), the Beta Packet (7.9.1-168), the PinkDot package (LogitechMediaServer-x86_64-7.9.2-168.0011.spk) while rebooting between each install... and i'm still stuck with the package refusing to load.

So i can't access the LMS page of configuration and i can't do anything.

For information, my PERL version is 5.24.0-0071

Could anybody give a hand and plz?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards

    Repo for DSDplayer [Synology fix]

So, currently I just added the needed FLAC library to the plugin.
Please test if it all works.

This works for x86_64 nas only! (If installed on a nas with a different arch, it will install, but just won't work)
If you're unsure about the architecture of your nas, check it here first (or just ask;-):

    DSDplayer Syno_fix: http://server.pinkdot.nl/dsdplayer/repo.xml
(Add the repo on the plugin page in the webui.)

    Greetings,

    Martin
Could you assist with installing of above?

This one works with spotty and looks like it's going to be updated when dsm 6.2 will be official.

    Hi,

I found this thread and this: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...7-9-1-packages
Both are discontinued and offer no Repo für DSM5.

Why are all packages only for DSM6 here: http://server.pinkdot.nl/sspks/ ?
Is there a way to Update LMS on DS214play with DSM5?

Until I got some issues with spotty plugin I've been happy with the quite old 7.7.3-package of synology, but now ...

Would be happy for some advice. Thanx.

Hi, first of all, thanks for providing the beta version to keep my LMS alive. The official release 7.9.0 stopped working since someday I upgraded to DSM 6.

The beta version of LMS (7.9.1-1492077569) is working well (almost) but it crashes if I tried to play a folder from my Squeezebox Radio. When I press the Play button on Squeezebox Radio when selecting a folder, LMS stops after few seconds when playing the first song in the selected folder, but if I entered the folder and select the first song then press the Play button, it works fine.

The log only show some warning indicating fixed-point overflow, do you have any idea to fix it?

I installed LMS on Synology NAS DS1813+ with DSM 6.1.3-15152 update 1.

    Thanks,

    Chao-hsi
