Flow mode - converts the items being played into one continuous flow that is sent to the UPnP player. By default I think it resamples everything to 16/44.1 but as Philippe pointed out you can change that. Choose the level depending on what you play most.

If you get it to work you will see "Streaming from Logitech Media Server" inside the WiiM Home App. Other metadata is lost at the WiiM end but Material will continue to display correctly.

d6jg, thanks so much for taking the time to show me the settings. I had no idea that's where Flow lurked: you have to know it will be revealed there in order to get to it, if you see what I mean.

Anyway, good news—it appears to work. I now get a playlist running smoothly in Qobuz via UpNP. Have only checked with a 4-song list for now, but seems to be good, and I'll check at greater length later. So, again, thanks for suggesting that idea. (Oh, and setting Gapless to No made no difference.)

One question: is it possible that changing Transcode to pcm would improve sound quality? That's what my ears tell me. But they have been known to lie.

Maybe. It is one less thing for the WiiM to have to do. If you are happy with sticking at one bitrate for everything then Flow mode should work in all cases.

See the "Read User Guide" link at the top of the UPnP/DLNA Bridge Settings page. It needs to be read a number of times until you realise what it is talking about. I think philippe_44 would accept that UI isn't his strong point!

Yes, I have entered the user guide several times and not lasted too long. But that clip does make (some) sense to me.

I set the bitrate at Resample to 192000, as that's the max the Wiim and my powered KEF speakers can handle. I'm guessing that way it will deliver the occasional 192 track from Qobuz at that bitrate, and anything lower (ie most of them) will be delivered as rated. Is that right?

No. Everything will be upsampled to 192kbps. That is the significant difference with Flow mode. You only get one bitrate.

Think of it like an Internet Radio Station. The DJ may play some Vinyl, some mp3s, some FLAC but everything gets encoded to the same codec/bitrate and sent to the player.

OK, got it. And upsampling doesn't have a negative effect on lower bitrate tracks?

Shouldn't but it will increase your electricity bill very slightly as there will be some transcoding going on.

Understood. Hmm, it may be time to enact my scheme for diverting the power supply to my house from next door's cable. I saw it on the internet so it ought to be a doddle.

Funny how all these UPnP plugin customisations for a handful of systems affect Radio Paradise replay in different ways.

It's because one of the most difficult thing with UPnP, or at least one use case where the difference between players is broad, are short tracks (less than 10s). Which these, it is very difficult to get a proper synchronized state between the LMS side and the UPnP side. If you don't want gapless, it's fine, but gapless is really problematic. In addition, the WIIM handles very poorly gapless when the "next track" is requested 20s or less before the end of the current one.

Then, when using RP in interactive mode, music is divided in chunk of ~20mins (3-6 tracks) and then a small announce by Bill of a few seconds which sometimes is a separate track, sometimes is in the 20mins chunk.

Bills and his wife's running announcements were always OK, it's the listener announcements in different languages that breaks the stream. My mistake was to upgrade to smth I thought was a release.

Is that with settings to gapless or no?

OK, I reverted back to non-Flow settings and tried Gapless set to Yes and then set to No. With both, same probs as earlier, including the second song in a short playlist stopping after a few seconds. So looks I still need the Flow setting for now, and have re-reverted to that. Maybe a Pro versus Mini thing.
